I don't understand this Twitch stuff. Explain it to me like I'm 4

I’m old, I don’t like Twitch, I don’t watch stuff like this and I just don’t get it.

  1. Who are you supposed to watch? How do you know who’s eligible?
  2. I don’t understand the whole “claim a drop on the channel you’re watching” thing. What does that even mean?
  3. I have no idea what a Twitch sub is or how to gift it or what that even means. But apparently to get cute pet, I have to gift some rando two of these things?

I need explanations like I’m 4!

From what I gather

Create twitch account
Link to BNet
Open Steamer
Push to back ground on mute while going about your life doing something productive

They said Dragonflight content. So I’m guessing you pick the World of Warcraft section on Twitch, and watch any stream there.

When a man and a woman love each other very much, they…

Uhh…

They put on fancy suits and rub butts together. I dunno. Go brush your teeth and go to bed. >:V

Any streamer playing World of Warcraft for the first two drops, the third says select streamers but no specifics other than that.

You have to claim the reward from Twitch before it expires seven days after earning it.

Twitch subscriptions skip advertisements for as long as the subscription lasts - very similar to other subscriptions. Gifting a subscription means you pay for someone else’s subscription, whether it be someone specific or random (I think).

10/10 would read again

I’m not old, and I ALSO do not understand this a whole lot.

If you have Amazon Prime - which I’m guessing most people already do - you save money by getting 1 “free” twitch sub per month

Not sure if this sub can be gifted or not, but if it can, you would only need to spend like $5 gifting a rando a sub instead of $10 for 2

Basically you make a twitch account on the website, and when you tune into a wow streamer that’s giving out the drops (wowhead will likely make a list when that happens), you get a progress bar in the chat box of the stream. As long as you keep the stream open, progress for that bar will go up. When you hit 4 hours, you’ll get a notification and be able to claim the rewards from a section on your profile called drops (you can be redirected there by clicking on the progress bar in the stream) and once it’s claimed you’ll find it ingame like how they did the mop head cosmetics

As for linking the account, i think the bluepost gave a walkthrough

And if you want the pet open up your wallet. I wouldn’t care if this were a shop pet but I do not feel comfortable giving twitch any money.

They said there is an “approved streamer” list for the pet. So you have to give money to a streamer but only a select few.

Can we stream ourselves and watch our own stream ?

lol yea closest way of actually getting the reward for playing the game

When it starts up, they will have links to which streamers you can get drops from if you wanna make it easy. If not, people usually put it in their stream titles and usually the people with the most viewers are the ones doing the drop program.

There will be a progress bar on how many hours you have watched of the specific streamers, when it’s filled you claim the drop and add it to your account on Twitch.

On the specific Twitch streams you will see a button underneath the stream that says “Subscribe”, if you click on that a menu will open up with the option to gift a sub, and it will randomly give someone following the stream a sub.

Hope that helps :dracthyr_heart:

Also if you scroll down to the bottom of the page about this announcement there’s a FAQ and instructions on how to link your Twitch to your B.net account:

I’m taking it they won’t allow you to watch a random 12 follower stream like I run. No I won’t advertise it here

Also note that it is 5 dollars for a sub. And you have to be very careful to choose 1 month only and not any of the bulk options. Also make sure it does not auto renew.

Thanks for that info! I’m bookmarking this thread for later and for guildies.

I basically did this for World of Warships for years while I was playing it. I would have it muted on a second tab for hours, just collecting the various twitch drop rewards. Hell I even “earned” a few rare premium ships doing this. Hell you could even have more than one stream running at the same time, just open them in new tabs.

Yet another mount I will never own…

Don’t worry, guys, I’m sure there will be a video from WoWhead explaining everything about this that Blizzard yet again couldn’t be arsed to explain.
