People are making RDF’s introduction out to be the next hell on Azeroth (er Northrend). But consider this that people HAVEN’T brought up, or at least I couldn’t find any:
Wrath did have RDF for nearly half it’s history, that’s gotta count for something. Plus RDF will get more people doing dungeons instead of waiting for queues.
RDF will solve the tank and healer problem guaranteed. Even if you don’t believe it’s gauntleted, then it’s very likely, which is better than NO RDF.
I think Blizzard should consider adding it later in the expansion. Great choice for everyone!
Make it 1-70 (exclude WotLK) for phase one. Then 1-80 phase two.
Because you’re going to reach the point later on, it may not be week one, or week two, but when there is a massive falloff of folks. When Dragonflight releases and pulls players from Classic, you’re going to struggle to find groups leveling alts.
Blizzard even suggested they didn’t want to add more fresh servers because they expect player drop off. That’s why they didn’t want to do anything too heavy with queues as well.
There is going to be a player drop off and it’s going to absolutely stink for folks leveling and who want to enjoy dungeon content.
If they don’t do something like this Old world/TBC content, then it will be as dead as a doornail and become unpractical to do for new players. So in general, great idea!
depends what you mean by half of its history. It was released after all of the major patch content was released. There just happened to be a big time period between that and the release of Cataclysm. Have to take things like development and planning into account
But isn’t it proven that RDF was only released late because of they ran out of Dev time? If they had all the time to develop the content, then the devs wanted it on launch.
they should just add it to save the hassle when stuff dies off and we know boosting sucked in tbcc cause my belf pally tank got annoying trying to do lower dungeon stuff and i never finished it. sometimes i do want to believe they didn’t add it just so people would boost cause we all know without rdf older stuff is gonna suck and with boosts it just makes it worse for people who love to level. wrath greatest expansion ever i can’t tell with all the changes coming lol and boosts to.
So first you make anti RDF threads, now you make pro RDF threads? Pick a side and stick with it.
“I think just lack of RDF means if you’re leveling you won’t get into dungeon groups as frequently or at all.”
-This is why it should exist, at least for old content.
There’s nothing confusing to find, I promise. The phrase “Pro RDF trolls” does not mean “everyone who is Pro RDF is a troll” it means, “The trolls who are pro RDF”
I’d play a tank if there was RDF. As it is, I can’t afford dual spec, and I don’t want to Farm Rep or do PVP as a tank. So no reason for me to be a tank, when I can basically just ignore people and use /lfg which serves the same purpose. I still don’t talk to people, if that’s the whole thing people are worried about.
Supercyan is a great name, I wish I thought of that first and stole it.
EDIT: On further investigation, you can keep it… its too alliance colored of a name for a respectable horde player like myself to be allowed (unless I was a freost mage)
