I don't think payment was captured for subscription. Please help

Good evening,

I would like to escalate my issue. Sadly, I used a vanilla visa gift card to renew my subscription and it shows a charge of $14.99 but my game time is currently expired. I fear that the payment was not captured and now I must wait 7+ days to get the money back. Unless, a GM can capture the payment for me. I hope.

Regardless of the fact, I wish to have game time.

sometimes it can take a few hours for the status to update. I’m not familiar with that card type but it may be that it can’t be used for a subscription service. You can no longer just buy one month of gametime, its either 2 or 6 months from memory now, or you need a proper debit/credit card/paypal etc to set up a direct debit.

You can check your order history, it should say processing, or failed or finalised/complete.

GM’s dont have the ability to capture a payment, nor can they quicken any process up, thats all automated between the bank and blizz systems.

If I recall correctly, I may have used a gift card for subscription in the past. I can’t remember. It says it is pending. I hope I can get back on.

pending means its processing. If its approved, you should be able to just go ahead and log in and itl update in the next few hours. you dont need to wait

Do you happen to have more than one WoW account? If so, did you mistakenly add subscription to the wrong one?

It’s the right one

This isnt a way to contact the GM staff either it would have to be done via ticket if it were possible but thats not within there power as pointed out.

My apologies. But is what your saying is I am completely screwed and a GM can not capture the payment? :frowning:

What u want is live chat which is account and billing but thats limited hours during the day.

Lol live chat is a thing again? Forreal!? Or nah?

Never stoped just limited due to work from home.

As far as I’m aware, you can’t use a gift card to fund a recurring subscription.

I believe you can use a gift card to buy a 60, 90, 0r 180 day block of time - not a recurring sub - if it’s the type of card that requires you to register it with a valid name and address before being used.

The cards that are not associated with a pre-registered name and address are not allowed to purchase either a block of time or a recurring sub.

You can not buy a 30 day block of time anymore but you can get a 30 day recurring sub with the appropriate type of card.

The only block of time (not the recurring sub) available directly from Blizzard is done in 60-day blocks. You can purchase multiple blocks of course, but each one will be in 60-day increments.

As far as I’m aware, there are no options for 90 or 180 day blocks of time.

Edit - Kyzera beat me to it.

Handy dandy guide. Poor Mirasol is going to get sick of me forever linking this. (Much easier to view when you go to the link. The preview doesn’t do it justice.)

Never! I made the guide to keep myself, and others hopefully sane. Feel free to link it all you like. It makes me feel like the time used to make it was worthwhile.

I’m sorry, but that’s not possible over the forums.

I see 2 recent attempts to purchase a subscription from your Blizzard account. One attempt failed because it was not supported, the other attempt failed but the reason for that is less certain. As a pre-paid gift card it could me that:

  • The card was not registered through the card provider site. If you did not provide a valid mailing address for the card when registering it, or if the address you entered in your payment profile didn’t match the info registrered to the card then the order could fail.
  • The card didn’t have enough funds on it to cover the purchase.
  • The card issuer did not support the type of transaction.

The Game Masters aren’t able to force a purchase to go through and are not able to provide you with game time for a failed order. We’d only be able to suggest checking the registered information and checking with the card issuer.

However, as mentioned by others - pre-paid credit cards sometimes just don’t work for a subscription. In that case, you’d need to purchase a set amount of game time instead.
