I dont like primordial wave

Same tbh, I’m baffled that it was chosen to be carried over in favor of chain harvest, vesper totem, and fae succ— probably 3 of my all time favorites to press

I’d suggest you log in and look again, you might find exactly what you want here to be true after the patch.

i hate these and hope we never get this type of bonus in any tier again, going forward.

was very unhappy we got Pwave. and the reskin for venthyr chain could have played into the original lemon lime colour chain heal used to have. huge missed opportunity.

I guess that’s one way to ensure tier sets are boring.

Then again. People didnt like the season 2 set apparently. Which actually allowed build diversity. For resto shaman. That is.

They should be boring instead of forcing you into specific talents.

i liked s2 resto sham, a fair bit. i don’t like any spec having to take a talent for their tier bonus to work at all. player choice, the whole point of the new trees, gets kinda overruled (ele has to take PWave. too bad if you don’t like it, no choice unless you choose to gimp yourself and thus your group).

i’d argue it’s more boring to force a talent - now everyone has the exact same build. minimal, if any, flexibility.

Spamming Lava Burst with no build variation is the epitome of boring tier sets, but it’s what elemental got this season and apparently what people here voted for next season.

Everyone had the same build before.

You were already choosing to gimp yourself if you didnt take it.

Not true. People in this game aren’t very innovative at all. There’s way more viable talent selections than people think.

To a certain point sure. Viable is a very grey area that means different things to different people.

Most people stick with the optimal load outs.

Agree. Please, never make set bonus that forces players to play one talent. Whose idea is this.

I don’t know how you all can keep repeating this with a straight face.

Guys.

Tier sets predicated on specific talent selections were an inevitability the moment they previewed the DF talent trees, because the only way they could avoid repeating the boring as sin “9 in 10 talents are +1% damage bonuses” Vanilla trees was to hack the base classes to the bone and move virtually their entire kits to the talent trees.

There isn’t enough left to any of the base classes to make more than a handful of tier sets per spec without repeating themselves within a few seasons. Do you expect every Enhancement tier for the rest of time to be based exclusively on Stormstrike or Lightning Bolt? Because practically everything else is going to be a “forced talent pick.” For spirits’ sake, we still have people come in here and complain about being forced to take friggin’ Lava Lash.

feelin like you intentionally “missed” my point. there is no choice when there are tiers like this. you take X talent. period. the end. or your entire tier set for the entire season is useless. whatever spec example you want, use it. shame cuz i agreed w you in the resto tier set voting thread but this i super can’t agree with. there are enough forced paths through the trees, no one benefits from extra restrictions (to this extent at least) in tier sets.

True but I just disagree with that reasoning for keeping strict tier is all.

Theres nothing wrong with specific tier sets if we had the ability to choose which tier we used at any point. Just like you can in diablo.

Funny example cause I think s3 resto tier is actually insane and my haste build surrounding it has performed extremely well and has been more adopted overtime.

I hate that I wont be able to enjoy my resto shaman next season cause I only enjoy this style of healing with it.

I don’t really mind the devs making a tier set around a certain talent (they honestly don’t have much of a choice), but they should stick to single point, non-choice nodes higher in the tree. Needing to spend a single point to pick up crash lightning, sundering, or something like that isn’t going to break anybody’s build.

Having to spend four points into a talent at the bottom of the tree does completely break a build. Its like comparing apples to mice.

As far as primordial wave itself- to me it just feels clunky to use. Its smooth when used right on the pull, but after that not so much. It has a wonky cooldown and requires some set up to use 100% optimally. As much practice as it takes to get passable at enhancement this makes it feel like you’re relearning the class.

It’s all subjective, but as Resto I find it to be a pretty useful mini cd with this current tier. If you’ve got riptide’s rolling on the group in M+ (which is super easy to keep up) and then Primordial Wave into an instant Healing Wave with Nature Grasp it’s a solid group heal, and if you’ve got cloudburst down it all goes into that healing storage to bump out again. While chain heal is much more archetypical for Shaman (and honestly what got most of us into the class), I think PW gets a bad wrap.

It should be changed depending on spec. Chain harvest was amazing for Enhance, but you know. Cant let Enhance be viable in any form.

You say that like Enhancement hasn’t been viable the entire Xpac, a rare first for them

You clearly have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
