its a garbage ability that doesn’t do much. …perhaps if it tossed out 4 balls it would be worthwhile.

S2 it was vital. But as resto, for 1 point its incredibly efficient.

I really wish they would change PWave’s name for different specs if only so I could have a clue what spec people were talking about it in context of when they don’t specify.

i say in the three specs.
kind of lame skill, literally feels like an extra flame shock or riptide, but in the end of the day, it is just that.

Completely agree with the OP. It’s not strong enough to feel like a decent emergency CD. Its cooldown is too long to fit into a rotation. Both of these are only resolved by sinking three more talent points into it. The only reason I take it is other talent options are even weaker.

My shaman’s talents seem so much less impactful compared to those of my alts…

I take just the 1 point of it for m+. For 1 point, it does a good bit of healing. Esp if you cast at 2/3 undulation. Granted, thats not as important anymore.

Pwave function for Ele 2pc is insanely nice. If they make that function a hero talent I’m all for it!

You… are aware of the “supercharged multi-target cast of a single target spell” follow up effect, right?

I don’t play Ele and I’ve only dabbled in Resto this expac, but it’s been a chunky burst for Enhancement all of Dragonflight, and especially trucks this season (to say nothing of it being a personal Bloodlust).

I still argue they should ditch the setup mechanic and just change it to directly blast all your currently Flame or Frost Shocked targets with big Elemental damage/instantly heal all your Riptided allies, but it’s hard to take the argument that it does nothing but cast an extra FS/RT seriously.

People are just gonna like and dislike different things in the tree.

That’s precisely why - tier sets that force talents - are a terrible idea.

The base tookit exists for a reason - the tier sets should buff that - and then leave the choice to the players when it comes to the tree.

No one wants to be FORCED to take Primordial Wave or to take Channel Demonfire and so on…

An issue is…very little, almost nothing is base.

I agree in the sense that you need 3 more talent points just to make it viable. Ascendance only needs one to slap and it just gets better with more talent points. PW doesn’t slap unless you max out it’s talent points.

Exactly! I could not agree more.

PW is fine for 1 point. I personally never take any of its extra talents though.

I think it’s quite fun for enhance

It’s a boring ability imo. The only reason it’s so good is because of the follow up talents and set bonuses. To me this ability is a great example of something that is purely contributing to button bloat. It should be a choice node with another powerful active ability.

I use it regularly without any follow up talents.

…but wouldn’t that still contribute to button blowt?

No. Putting two active abilities on a choice node vs both separate in the tree removes one button from your build assuming both are powerful / meta / viable. Some players might not like this solution if they enjoy using both abilities / having a ton of hotkeys, but its better than just removing abilities like they did in WoD / Legion.

What abilities are you suggesting would be combined in the same node?

Icefury. It’s another bad node.
