I dont like primordial wave

Some hilariously bad takes in here.

While I disagree as a resto sham I donā€™t have icefury.

i hate icefury, and because of the talent tree setup, it feels like thereā€™s absolutely no way around it haha. iā€™ve stared for minutes upon minutes trying to figure out a way to avoid icefury, and i canā€™t. which means you canā€™t avoid its subsequent buff node eitherā€¦ for a talent i donā€™t even want to use D: I hate hate hate it

Thereā€™s not for any type of single target or cleave builds, but you can minimize it. I used these builds in raid tonight and it pumped pretty good.

Some fights were better than others, but not too bad. Just use Icefury as a filler when thereā€™s nothing else to press. The way these are setup, you get Lava Burst procs constantly.

I hate it. I donā€™t know why they felt the need to carry it over from Shadowlands.

This seem contrarian, but I was very happy they brought Primordial Wave over from Shadowlands as an option in the talent tree. This is probably because I chose Necrolord specifically for - the OTHER ability ā€œFleshcraftā€ for survivability. Iā€™m much more of a Lightning enjoyer of the laser lightshow and more interesting rotation, though I do wish the damage was easier to balance. But as a rider on my adventure for joy, I came to like using it.

Although itā€™s a small part, Iā€™m a bit sad that itā€™s been changed to be a lot less dynamic and specialized having lost the dual healing/damage flexibility. I would have loved if it always applied Flameshock when used against enemies and Riptide on friendly targets.

I think the direction they have gone with it and may continue to go with for the future, hopefully baking in the Elemental Blast rider from the latest tier set bonus would make it a lasting bridge between Lava and Lightning builds as a snap initiator.

Thatā€™s precisely why - tier sets that force talents - are a terrible idea.

absolutely!!

1000% agree. Being forced into certain builds takes away the options that the DF talent tree system introduced in the first place.

Same! I feel like this was introduce just because ele had an extra ice button, so apparently enh needed one just to create button bloat.

I mean look at fury warriorā€™s rotation.
Then look at enhance shamanā€™s rotation.
Calling it ā€œbutton bloatā€ is an understatement.
Itā€™s an utterly-horrendous experience to play enhance effectively at the moment.

No one wants 13 spells as part of their core rotation. Itā€™s just insane.

I too enjoy comparing broken two button spam builds to something fully functioning and well-designed.

zzzzz we love exaggeration!

Prim wave feels very unnatural to me on enhance. I basically use it because of the set bonus and I just consider it a haste buff basically. On ele it actually feels like it fits with the kit and I enjoy playing it with a lava burst build, but I definitely wouldnā€™t care if it was gone. For resto itā€™s functionally useful but Iā€™m just not interested in another medium cooldown ability that just does more healing, resto has tons of those and they donā€™t add any fun to me.

What they should have done for every spec in the game is given us a mini-talent tree to choose which Covenant ability we wanted to use. Like, Covenant abilities were the best part of SL, bar none, but they ripped that away from us and gave us the ability of their choosing instead.

Just because Primordial Wave was the more popular choice, doesnā€™t mean others didnā€™t like Chain Harvest or Vesper Totem. I liked Ravenous Frenzy on my Druid better than Convoke for my Guardian.

Real player choice is already difficult, no doubt, but limiting things that were already in place previously to what you think players want instead makes it worse for the players.

By far my favorite was chain harvest. I wish they put it somewhere as a choice node

100% this. Chain harvest was an awesome gap filler for healing and aoe. I feel empty without it. The best thing that could happen to PW would be to give it to another class and make it go away.

so far what iā€™m reading about people complaining about pwave is that yā€™all ainā€™t patient enough to wait 2 globals to experience a massive payoff. pwave for enhance this season is god dang goated, you press it, spread flame shock with LL, then lightning bolt, pop wolves, and go to town with 30%+ haste every 20ish seconds in m+. It adds more high octane to an already high octane spec.

The functionality of button presses canā€™t all be ā€œpress button, do damageā€.
I donā€™t see ANYONE complaining about spirit wolves, even though theyā€™re the setup that makes you do more damage as enhance. I donā€™t see anyone complaining about elementals (fire/storm) not topping damage, because they set up your abilities to have extra functionality.

Only thing we united should be complaining about is Shamans as a class not having a raid buff.

yea, a skill that just have utility in just one season for just one viable buildā€¦

Im not a fan of it at all, and wasnt in shadowlands either.

Now that beautiful Venthyr chain lightning - THAT was an ability I was hoping theyā€™d carry over but they left it behind for some unknown reason.

Bad take. Iā€™d agree Icefury is a pure nothing burger button but Pwave gave enhance a unique damage profile (thatā€™s super useful in all PvE content mind you) compared to every other class in the game.

I just wish Primordial Wave had a better visual. I think elemental blast does/once had the spiraling 3 elemental colors. I feel like that would have been better choice.

Aside from that, it took me a minute to get used to PWave, but now i like it
