Seems like most of your issues would be resolved if they simply added a Hover to dragon riding
Someone missed the joke.
No matter what Blizz does there will be people that dont like it and complain.
It’s pretty decent for a brand new system. It’s clearly not perfect but can definitely be improved on in the future.
i personally enjoy dragonriding right now. but in a month? 2 months? 6 months? 1 year? who nows. it might get really stale really fast.
everyone is still in the honeymoon phase right now. we will see how things are once everything settles
Years ago people loved when cars got automatic transmissions over manuals. Then a few years ago many loved working from home to not have to commute daily. Today a bunch of people who have never driven a car or forgot think by adding more stuff to do while going from A to B makes the game better. Next up they will add the garrison music to your Dragon Riding…
Man… now you are just making me sad. Between abandoning the song rolls for the jukebox after WoD and doing the same thing in Legion with the personal music player engi device. This is a huge thing in FF14, like new music rolls from everything. It would have been so easy just to add a handful of music roll items each expansion/patch. All it’s doing is just triggering an audiofile that we already have. Engis could continue to sell the players and scribes could keep making the rolls.
Man I would love for them to add more of those…
Would be nice like most other games to have player housing be a thing. I mean every expansion imagine having the option to move your garrison and at least have a different view. But that would be fun…
Because the devs listened, we got flying almost immediately and we only have to collect glyphs one time , it’s customizable and you don’t have to go out of your way for it , it’s a sign that they are starting to respect our time and i and a lot of others are very excited for it
All of these “I dislike dragonriding” posts keeps me coming back to the same question: have you levelled up your dragon? Of course its going to feel like doo doo if you don’t.
I hope they do stuff with ground mounts as well. Go full GW2 on the WoW mount system.
Its fun, it feels more realistic, whatever that means in a fantasy setting, and it forces you to think more because you can’t just be a hoverbot and camp stuff.
The game is adventurous again for the first time in ages. You’re almost destined to visit every corner, every cave, every island to find something.
Its got more of the WoW Vanilla flavour added that I, personally, have missed. I used to swim around Kalimdor just to find the unused, dumb stuff that devs left in the game. This gives me similar feelings but with added purpose and easier access to some places.
I like it, but it still needs work. Feels clunky. I haven’t maxed it out yet, which will help alleviate some jank. But I play gw2 on the side, and it works way better there. But that’s also because they build the whole game around the Mount system in the game. Not just inject it. But it definitely is a good start. Plus I do like having more in depth customization into the mounts that GW2 makes you pay for. It’s alot more engaging anyways then just regular flying too.
And apparently a lifetime wiser.
The game is about more than raids, pvp and m+ though… its just devolved into a bunch of loud tryhards who yell louder than the rest of us quietly enjoying that theyre adding in something more than just another dungeon to run.
Because GW2 is f2p, that’s what it boils down to. At least you have tons and tons of options for your Skyscale, something for everyone really; from different glows, to crystals, to butterfly wings, and many many others. Doing zone meta and HP trains I rarely if ever see 2 people with the same skyscale skin.
I would rather have tons of option, some of which I might have to grind for or even pay for, than the minimal options we got with DR that barely make a difference in how they look… and that you still have to grind for. There is really no excuse where a sub-based MMO releases a system with such piddly amount of customization when the f2p game they copied it from has tons and tons.
Kind of true, but you don’t get flying mounts without having to pay for the according content, like wow. Plus their updates are smaller in scope, but it is free if your an active player. Cash shops are always such a touchy subject, with very circumstantial implementations where it works well. I haven’t played fort nite in ages, that shiz was f2p. But it had a FOMO shop. I’m playing darktide right now. It has a FOMO cash shop without having its crafting finished. It boils down to how everyone personally considers what’s acceptable and what’s not. And again dragon riding ain’t perfect, but it’s a good step in the right direction. I’m looking forward to getting the pvp Mount skin.
I’m not complaining about having to grind excessively for skins or pay for them with cash in GW2. I’m saying WoW with a sub model and a lot more resources (GW2 has been declining revenue for years, but got a bump with the Steam launch) should have been able a) do a better job copying the system from GW2 since it’s clear they did, b) should be able to offer way more customization out of the gate withotu resorting to mind-numbing levels of rep grinding. If the skeleton-crew ANet staff can push out a complete reskin with new wings and particle effects every few weeks to months, there is no reasonable argument that Blizz couldn’t have launched DR with more options.
It’s absurd how limited the option are in DR by comparison. Everyone’s dragons end up looking the same since things like basic color and head changes are buried under 20+ renown levels of grind or pure RNG.
I was trying to figure out why the grumpiness up until I read this.
Dude, try and imagine if you will that some people play to have fun. If all you do is raids, pvp and M+ then you are addicted to stress and the game is just a job to you. Calm down. Relax. Have fun for a moment. It’s okay.
Ok. So it’s not for you. Do you. But why make a post about it as if anyone cares?
