9 hours. Probably the longest its ever taken for something to be added to game and made stable. AND THIS ISNT A NEW LAUNCH its re-release.
Thats why i personallycare so much. Lack of backwards compatibility from these same companies has made their own jobs harder now. Maybe they should get over the fact that people like playing Diablo or final fantasy 10 and 10-2 without having to buy it 5 times on every console and then again when the new one comes out.
(Consoles are Mini-PC’s Theyre the same thing; No one thought to have new systems be able to read old code so now we’re stuck with this)
Yeah, I agree with this. The system they chose to implement is one that allows them to sell character copies so I don’t feel bad for them when they are having trouble implementing it. I’m sure they also could have taken the snapshot and done a little at a time behind the scenes instead of trying to do it all at once live. I honestly don’t care about the servers being down what bugs me are these guys that have blizzards junk so far down their throat they are getting oxygen depravation and honoring some hidden agreement in the tos to defend them of any criticism.

Multi-boxing. End of debate.
Impossible if you skip half of it.

My guy you obviously never played rift on launch. PAINFULLY OBVIOUS. TONS of us quit wow in cataclysm for rift because of the total rehaul done on the game and combat / tallent systems and had 0 cash shop aside from a pre-order / collectors mount and pet like wow does and then a special cape skin depending on where you pre-ordered the xpac from (Red for target, Purple for Walmart / Best buy, Yellow for EB/Gamestop, Blue for Steam, Green for Their own website); It wasnt till 1/2 way through that expansion that Gamigo bought rift under the Glyph launcher and added monetization to milk it before killing it.
WoW has been a “Whale” game ever since the introduction of WoW Token. When people can and do spend upwards of 5 mill gold on just themselves to do raiding thats Pay to advance and allows for whaling. Top place world guild have admitted they spend thousands on tokens for gold in races.
Please stop being intellectually dishonest.

not a big change when they been beta testing it, its like they just rollfacing the keyboard at this hoping the servers will work
9 hours (and counting currently) for people working could be 2 days worth of free time after work, sometimes even more. And that’s counting those that need to do things on other days so they don’t have all 7 days to focus on WoW.
Or people with family, or who decided to work out everything to have a night free to play, only to now not be able to because of this massive maintenance.
You can add to that the 14 day prepatch, which is now 13 days, and that’s just on people who wanna play the new races because you CAN’T boost the new races. It’s disrespectful of peoples time and money. They made the decision to push the release forward since 9.1 still isn’t happening for quarterly earnings, they should’ve been ready for the release ahead of time. I understand a 1-2 hour delay. I don’t understand a 9+ hour delay. AND on top of that it wouldn’t even be that bad, if they were warning us as problems came up about more delay, but they wait until 5-10 minutes before the delay ends to delay MORE. Some people have been sitting waiting since 5pm their time to log in, only for delay after delay to hit.
So yes, it IS a big deal. It’s not a big deal for YOU. But for hundreds of thousands of others, it’s a massive deal.

I don’t know if you understand…but the WoW Token isn’t the cause of all that. Before then people were buying gold from 3rd party sites. Dunno if you paid attention during the whole world first race thing in BFA but the top guilds all were getting gold and then paying back gold, or in some cases using real money to buy gold shadily from 3rd parties to speed up their raid progression as much as possible. That’s not “they bought wow tokens for gold.” They bought it from other places. There were groups specific to making gold to sell for money. Regardless of the existance of the WoW token, this would exist.
None of them bought the tokens. They bought from other places because it was cheaper. Asmongold did a HUGE discussion with people from Method, some of who were directly involved, and they talked about a lot of this.
I’m upset because Tuesday is raid night. We were ok starting a little late, but this canceled our night. This is our last week of DKP raids. I need 3 splinters to complete my staff This is a disaster. Thankfully my guild adapted and we’ll go tomorrow, but the change of days means some folks can’t go.
It doesnt change the fact that it allows for whaling; Be it from a 3rd party bot or from blizzard themselves. The issue is that the game is so far gone at this point that the token is needed. They dont explain it that way though; They explain it like how new world does and claim its for the little guy when its not. They need to quit pretending they do anything for any reason other than because its their job and they get paid for doing what they love.
Do what you love and get paid for it; power to anyone who can do that but dont pretend that what the investors and CEO’s send down has ANYTHING to do with helping the little guy. asmon said that too. because the guys who have final say dont love the game, they love money.

Some people need to chill but at the same time if I called Dominos and ordered a pizza and 8 hours after they said it would arrive it’s no where to be found I would be pretty upset

To Duelist…
Except it is not a “simple server migration”… not even remotely close.
Applying a major pre-expansion patch normally means an 8 hour maintenance. But that isn’t all that Blizz is doing this time. They also have do everything that ensures players can do something they’ve never been able to do before - play in both Classic and TBC via cloning.
Blizz could have repeated history and done what they’ve always done - all servers progress to the next expansion and no one really gets a choice. Now granted back when TBC was first released players could choose to not buy it… but then they would be left behind as almost everyone else went with the flow into Outland.
But Blizz listened to its players. It was pretty clear that players wanted to have the best of both worlds - to play both in Classic and TBC - without losing all the progress they’ve made in the past 2 years. Despite the tech challenges inherent to making it happen, Blizz decided to give us what we wanted.
And NOW we whine and yell and scream that its taking too long?!
facepalm
Maybe IF they gave more than 2 weeks before launch…people not quite as upset?
Go play retail technically that’s what your sub pays for. Classic was tossed in and thankfully not at an additional sub price.
if only a good potion of people wanting to play the classic version were here for retail…
I do not forsee me hitting 60 before release. I would have to play an insane amount of time to achieve that.
You Win!
Blizzard was already in the red with only a 2 week prepatch, and now they can’t even deliver that. Low quality service = unsatisfied customers.
Prepare the Anoos cause its about to get flamed buddy XD.
you sound stupid…activision stop trying to get a free month sub simpin on blizz
Imagine you weren’t getting the update but the fallout from the update of Classic to TBC breaks your game & you can’t play. Ok to be mad b/c you’re not getting the reward but you are paying the price? So yeah, I’m peevish.
