If we are talking LFR… more than likely people are rolling need to transmog. There really was no reason for blizzard to change the loot system for LFR. It wasn’t broken before and now it’s terrible, rng on top of more Rng.
Technically Blizzard did put in a system for you to roll on that lower gear for its “color scheme.” Unfortunately, Blizzard failed to implement it correctly because if you select trans mog you automatically lose to someone that actually hits need because it is a potential upgrade to that person.
What Blizzard could do like Ever Quest that came out in 1999, have recipes for Alchemy that allows us to add color tint to gear. This feature was added in 2003, called Prismatic Dyes. Another choice is they give you an appearance only piece when you select trans mog, so you get your color scheme if you win and the person that actually needs the gear gets their upgrade.
So LFR people don’t need the gear which is an upgrade to them. LFR gear can make it easier for that player to do more LFR content, it can make them have an easier time doing dungeons and more world content. Not everyone is in a guild that does group content, so they participate in LFD and LFR to get that upgrade to make their life easier when they do content.
A color scheme does not help your game, it just makes your pixels a different shade. Sadly, gear is temporary until the next patch, and we start the cycle over again trying to get upgrades and pixel colors again.
Anyways, good luck in game. May you continue to find the things that make you happy. Hopefully one of those missing color schemes.
I roll need on everything, and if it ends up being a lower ilvl than what I have, I look at the roll list and give it to the next highest roller that it’s an ilvl upgrade for
A little googling should turn up blizzard explaining what can and can’t be rolled on.
Thanks mate!
PL made it easier to get mogs in LFR over people who need stuff to equip. Those folks are the only ones who should be asking for PL back.
Lets be honest here. LFR and LFG are like a crappy ONS. We are only doing this together because i want something and you want something. Imma try to get mine and hopefully I won’t have to see you again afterward There is a large probability that someone is walking a way disappointed. But in this case I bear less shame for yoinking a piece of gear.
Two people enter, one person leaves.
Everyone is there to pull the handle on the loot slot machine.
No.
Higher content should reward the lower versions of the transmog, and LFR should be tuned such that its approachable by players actually at an LFR level of gear and skill without 10 max geared carriers to do it for them.
LFR is tuned appropriately for people gearing, if everyone actually plays decently. I’m sure if you had a full group of good players you could probably clear it well below the minimum ilevel to queue.
“assuming everyone plays decently” is not how queued content in WoW works. There’s a reason Cata Heroics were nerfed almost immediately. People who live in queued content do not play decently, on average, but all queued content is designed with the assumption of success.
If the they do the Transmog change and LFR’s success rate suddenly drops dramatically, then it needs to be tuned differently.
If it stays the same, then no harm done.

I don’t get it either. The transmog of raid gear is absolutely terrible in this game. The only mog worth wearing is like random bs green gear and the like. Like the dresses and evening gowns are ok. But it’s all from older content.
Easy, the lower tier stuff in VotI looks better than the higher tier stuff. Stats are temporary, transmog is eternal.
But for real though this wouldn’t be an issue if Blizzard had a dye system like 99.9999999% of every MMORPG in the history of ever. But then they’d have to come up with actual rewards for the raid tiers.
Yeah, you sure would lol
You are not allowed to play the game that you pay for in the way you want to. You must fall in line with everybody else’s thinking.
Wait… I thought all of you guys said LFR was a cake walk.
That’s what determination is for.
The best thing in all these thread is that if such a change was made that rendered LFR useless to run for transmog, they would still roll against about the same number of people, just much weaker ones.
And they’d have less people blocked by rolling restrictions than they do now.
Because I need it for transmog.
