I do not understand how people roll need when wearing more powerful gear

/thread

You’ll always be rolling against roughly the same number of people in LFR, so those odds aren’t going to magically change. It’ll just make a few people feel better that the roll went to someone who they deem “worthy.”

(I mean, one could argue that your odds of beating the encounter to give you the ability to roll in the first place might actually go down if you need the assistance of higher geared players and they are no longer queuing - but I think that’s a flaw since you shouldn’t need them to complete LFR content.)

Determination would get them there, but who wants to take an hour wiping on bosses that could be one shot?

Most people act like this for transmog. I agree it is clown behavior.

I recently was in a Heroic run where this happened to me, taking a piece i desperately needed. This person was wearing the mythic raid equivalent but wanted it for upgrading because it was their “BiS” albeit a much lower ilvl.

The loot system really doesnt work well.

Cuz Blizz enables it.

i’m at the point where it’s like wuteva, i’m on alt #10 i’ll get it next week or in the vault.

BUT i do wait to roll on something n if the person with the highest roll has better i will roll on it as well n give it to the highest roller that it’s an upgrade for, if i win it anyway.

I don’t mind too much if they’re really going after xmog, but the “My 74 vendor gold is more valuable to me than your 30 ilvl upgrade” pretty much sums up what’s so wrong with the gaming community these days.

Sounds like a win right there.
First roll need/geeed with ilvl scan by game.

Second roll for players who have ilvl met but don’t have appearance in collection.

You’d have to leave before you could come back, and to leave means you’d have to stop funding the company you believe is motivated solely by greed.

If I am in LFR its most likely for a trinket that is BiS even at that ilvl.

They made the lfr tier appearance from Aberrus basically free from the catalyst this tier. If they keep the same trend going forward I’ll never run lfr for xmog again.

Are you saying if you run heroic and get a wep you should get the LFR and normal versions too? I don’t think I could argue against that, blizz make it happen.

You can need on downgrades. It’s been happening left and right in normal and heroic, even when people are 485+ ilvl.

It’s stopped me from raiding. It is disgusting.

Another brain twister is why there is a “Need” option for offspec gear. I regularly get offered the option to need on agility gear. If I was running LFR for Enhancement gear I’d set that in the loot menu.

Like someone already pointed out it’s for mogs. Makes you wonder why they didn’t give everyone of the right class the mog automatically when an item drops. No need to win a roll, I’m specifically talking about LFR here. Then again people will always be people so you know they’d still roll need just to spite someone.

That would kill LFR within a week or two, which is not a good idea.

There is a Need (Off-Spec) roll that is below Need but above Transmog. Blizzard has a terrible UI/UX and doesn’t explain things very well.

So this is pretty much par for the course in a recurring issue that’s been coming up for the entire expansion that some people are quite upset about that Blizzard says nothing about.

Blizzard be like:

Because you might need something for offspec but not more than you need main spec drops, so offspec need gives you lower priority than main spec need but higher than greed. Y’all just mad at having more options now?

No, just questioning the logic behind the system.

For the mog

No, what im saying, is i do not underatand how they have the option to hit need. Mine is grayed out if i have a more powerful piece.

There are definitely some bugs. I saw a DH with a 489 tier helm win a tier token from LFR a couple of weeks ago and even he was confused on why he could roll on it.
