Its like if tomorrow the government redesigned the elections to allow one person to vote multiple times and you went “well that’s weird I’m just 1 person so I should only get to vote once, I am going to stick to this honor system and expect everyone else to do the same even though the government allows it” then when your candidate doesn’t get elected you make a surprised Pikachu face
It is idealistic, but what is better, the ideal to aim/strive for or to keep things the way they are?
Oh, no, I have fallen too many times and climbed back to think of myself as one of the better ones, as I know all it will take is the right situation and down I go again. Even the best of us slip and fall on occasion.
I prefer if they change it (BLIZZARD) but its not the players job to fix it, otherwise blizzard will never be incentivized to change it.
In the meantime, normal people will keep using the system as designed.
if you choose not to, you can still be normal by not complaining when other people use it. Ask blizzard to change it, but this type of thread accusing other players of using the system is just so silly
Why be normal when you can be exceptional in a certain area?
I too get tired of the accusation threads, but while we can (and should) ask Blizzard to change the system, is there anything wrong with asking people to be better then they are till that change happens?
it’s unrealistic to expect people to put their needs on hold so other people don’t have to put their needs on hold (you can pick who I’m talking about because it works both ways) unless you think only one side matters more in which case I assure you , you are not the better person
Nah, it was the same “geared toons coming in and stealing LFR loot” threads then. Only difference was instead of “they’re rolling need” it was “they won’t trade away their loot” (with the bonus “toxic begging for my stuff” and " can’t even loot bosses because toxic people" to boot)
Sorry, unless it is something like food, water, shelter and basic clothes, or in the case of the game, the ability to do more damage, live longer, heal more, then it is not a “need” in my book.
I won’t say one’s needs outweigh another’s, but I will say that if you think something you “want” is a “need” maybe you have skewed priorities.
I never used the word need before, you guys have been.
You keep saying you don’t need, and I said, well you also don’t need.
we can change it to want.
it’s unrealistic to expect people to put their wants on hold so other people don’t have to put their wants on hold (you can pick who I’m talking about because it works both ways) unless you think only one side matters more in which case I assure you , you are not the better person
So, Player A rolls need because they need the item as a legitimate upgrade to perform better in content. Player B rolls need because they know if they select trans mog, Player A gets priority and wins the item. So, player B gamed the system to change their outcome by rolling need instead of trans mog because to them trans mog > then actual upgrade for a player they might never meet again.
In this case, it could easily be both, as I could say I want to do higher/harder content, but to be able to do so, I need to be able to do more damage, live longer, heal more.
The need is cause of a want in this case (and since it is a game, not real life, most needs will be along this path anyway)
But when it comes to need, one just needs enough to cover themselves and protect from the elements, I.E. one does not “need” designer clothes, strictly speaking.
I don’t care if its a need or want or whatever term you want to use. You want to advance your character in some way, and I want to advance my character in some way. Either we are equal or we are not.
If you think we are not, you are not the good person you think you are.
Yep. No matter how much I may want something in a video game, at the end of the day nothing I obtain (or don’t obtain) is a need, even if I feel like I need it at the time.
