I do not understand how people roll need when wearing more powerful gear

You don’t understand that your desires are no more important than anyone else’s. Upgrades, gold, and transmog are equivalent. If players can need roll, you bet they will… they’ll vendor your upgrade and get a good night’s sleep knowing it bought them a handful of healing pots for the next run.

I hate this blanket statement to justify gamers actions, not all gamers will do this. I do feel that fewer gamers than in the past will select the correct selection because they feel entitled or assigning worth of time to an item.

Example

In reality if you’re a male and under 25 you pay more than someone that is 26 or female because statistically your more prone to run afoul of the police in your car.

No justification provided or needed in my statement. Blizzard could EASILY change the loot dynamic, but they have not.

Your example is a non-sequitur.

I had a fun night in normal raid where a guy wearing all mythic 480 something gear won 3 rolls on same boss, as well as other rolls, which all were all a big drop in gear quality.

So glad this loot method helps to distribute gear fairly.

Which in turn makes them worse then they see group as mean and do the same and the cycle repeats and continues.

Adding to toxicity only makes it toxic…

The easy answer is transmog and the fact that I spent my effort too and I want a reward as well as you. This is why blizzard should go back to personal loot in my opinion.

I don’t bother myself with trying to understand what other people do that I can’t control. If I need something, I roll need. If someone else gets it, I move on with my life and try again later. No way I’m investing my time into checking out their gear and trying to judge if they really need the thing or not since there’s nothing I can do about it either way.

Easy, they click they little dice icon. Wah-la. A need roll.

ERROR ERROR ERROR does not compute, does not compute

Want=/= need, want has never equaled need, anyone that thinks want means they can do things like roll need on what they want is nothing but a selfish pop.

If going this route, at least try and hide behind “needing” to finish a set look or “needing” to look your “best” in game.

You need everything because you don’t want to be greedy.

People dont even read the drop. They roll need every time the game lets them. No matter what.

People admit to it. Even more people act like there’s nothing wrong with it.

Losung BiS upgrades because someone “needed” 30g in vendor gold is the worst thing in the current loot system.

Its been a problem ever since personal loot was removed.

The solution isnt personal loot. Its a system that isnt so lazy.

This is your opinion, and you’re entitled to it, but you don’t have any actual authority to control anyone’s actions. Until their little dice icon is grayed out and unclickable, they can do what they want whether you personally agree or like it or not. That’s just the reality.

It was more of a problem when PL was in place.

Because you do not deserve it. You arent playing the game right and relying on said people to carry you. I do it for this reason.

True, but one thing some don’t stop to think about is as long as people do things like this, others will call them out for such.

Thing is, until the system is made better, there are really only 2 fixes:

  1. the ones complaining get over themselves and learn to accept people are nothing but selfish pos
  2. the ones doing it, and perpetuating it get tired of the topics on it and, in an effort to spare the community more BS like this, cut back or stop doing it

Now telling others to get over themselves tends to only lead to bad blood., so maybe instead of telling others to do things, some need to look at what they, personally, can do.

As a note, back when the complaints were about people not passing or giving up loot under PL, I was one of those that took the side of “it was their loot to decide what to do with, not yours to dictate what they do”. This is one reason I preferred PL in pug settings, because once the loot was assigned/won in that system, it was up to the one who got it what they wanted to do with it. Under GL, people are free to do what they want on the roll but there is, at least for some of us, a social priority or however you want to put it that says things like “if it is not an upgrade, don’t roll need”.

Considering the small number of forum users, the threads probably aren’t an issue for most people.

Listen, man, I really need the mog.

My main has 2 myth track trinkets, still roll on the hero pips.

Who’s to say that some are not calling them out in the group as well?

But it’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. I want some flowy cloth robes on my pally, but Blizzard won’t let me roll Need!
