I do not understand how people roll need when wearing more powerful gear

Well heres the problem. Not every instance is related to greed different specs especially those that swap from healer/tank to dps will need a second set of gear, and not every spec can take sub optimal secondary ststs even at higher ilvl. Enchanters also need to procure materials somehow. How many epics exist outside of endgame dungeons and raids? Not many, the odd WQ and crafting. Its expensive to go the craft route solely. As much as it sucks the need roles to get crystals from disenchantment warrants a need roll. However I do think its greedy and garbage to not use the tmog or greed buttons for their intended purposes.

If one has the flightsotnes, the track below vet can be upgraded to epic and after a certain point, one is preety mugh only going to get vet gear from world sources.

The ironic part of all this is once you remove the incentive for higher geared players to do LFR then groups will start wiping more and disband more often resulting in no loot, time wasted, and frustration.

At the end of the day, the person who wins the roll is free to do what they want with loot, even if they disenchant it and use for mats.

That part specifically was aimed at enchanters

To be completely fair, flightstones are kind of a finite resource on a weekly basis. You can always get more, but it’s a bit more difficult once you’ve exhausted your weekly chores. I’m not saying I necessarily agree with the whole disenchanting raid loot thing, but flightstones will only get crafters so far.

Exactly. Not everyone’s game enjoyment progression is gearing and hard difficult content.

Part of the issue is the incentives for higher geared players should likely be under their own rules and not follow the same rules as the ones trying to gear up. Things like those after Tmog can roll Tmog and win the look but not the item, players can earn a Tmog currency to use to buy the look, either at the roll window or at a vendor, etc.

I have 2 enchanters and neither really lacks for mats.

They also cap out, so I was thinking more the “have flight stones to spend but nothing that would be an upgrade to spend them on” deals.

I need for transmog, help gear friend, resonant crystals or gold

Killed heroic smolderon on hunter yesterday. Rolled as survival as we are emergency gearing a replacement DH.

Signet drops and I win the roll. I was getting so many whispers about asking to buy it I’m just like “DH bought for 500k”

100% fair. I would do the same

I don’t know why you seem to be arguing(?) with me so hard - I am familiar with having bad RNG luck and never seeing something drop in vault, raid, etc. Pretty sure on my main I used a 463-475? upgraded champion trinket from dreamsurge weekly forever. And I settled for a lower grade (C tier) trinket because it’s all I was lucky enough to get out of m+ in the meantime. I could still gear and progress, and I wasn’t being denied m+ or raid invites. I still don’t know what your point is - no one is rolling Need on a trinket for transmog. And sometimes we just have bad luck. That’s no one’s fault?

I also know how crafted trinkets work and that MW (lol) has crappy trinket options this season. Like, ok??? Stay mad… then. ?

500k+ for a ring. Not even for something that could be used for transmog. A ring. To me, that’s wild.

Actually nothing in what the person said claimed it wasn’t greedy, just that people are free to do so.

Ironically that’s what we’ve had the last few expansions before Dragonflight. During which, you were labeled greedy if you didn’t willingly trade anything you were awarded to whomever opened trade or whispered you first.

Depends on the mog. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated: If I helped with a boss then I have equal rights to roll on gear.

For sure. Now I joke with my guildy and say he owes me 500k :joy:

Signet is the bis trinket off of smolderon

He also didn’t pay me as we were running heroic in a majority guild group to funnel him pieces as he was rerolling as our DH tank left.

I still can’t wrap my head around that, I guess. If I’m gonna invest that much gold, if not more, into an item, then it’ll be something I can get more use out of than a season or two. The simple fact that others were jumping on the potential opportunity is something my brain can’t really comprehend.

I just said 500k to get people to leave me alone. A rogue offered 20k and a warrior did 100k

you can farm gear in dungeons too, you didn’t get a 441 belt? go do dungeons that have belts you’ll get one.

I have to wait a minimum of 3 years to solo the content, you can spam dungeons til you get what you need and outlevel an lfr belt on day 1 of gearing character.

The most important thing to remember is that you are still allowed to roll, and if you weren’t rolling against a super powerful character, you’d just be rolling against a very weak character. You are the only one worrying about who gets it, even though the outcome for you will not change.

Because rolling for Barbie Dress Up is an acceptable thing now. Cause, you know, this content isn’t going to be around next expac or something.

I don’t pay blizzard for content I have to wait 3 years to get my hands on.
