Just based on the systems design, your going to have to spend the majority of your time PvEing to progress in PvP. Your going to do dailies for an hour. Then to gear their are two ways to gear for PvP.
1.) Grind Mythic and Raid for the most optimal gear which will leave barely anytime for PvP if you have a job.
2.)BG your a#$ off only to get subpar gear and work twice as hard to beat anyone coming in with PvE gear. But hey at least you get to PvP.
3.)Grind Conquest gear which isnt so bad if your keeping up and if you like to arena. If you like to BG, your in for a GRIND.

When you have to do ~380BGs and spend ~90 hours just to finish your honor set? No, not an over reaction, this system is absurd and needs to be changed… Blizzard needs to stop crapping all over the PvP playerbase.
Maybe bro, but im just lookin out for some people. I think most high rated arena players will be fine though. But anyone that just likes to BG and maybe low rateds will most likely be frustrated.
Capping conquest every week was super easy in BfA without arena or rated PvP. What it is that makes you think it will be tougher in SL?
Ya’ll really need to stop watching Stoopz or whoever’s videos. Every conquest piece that you get reduces that figure by a ton of hours. Do a 4 minute world boss once a week. Boom, minues a bunch of hours. Another conquest piece. Minus a bunch of hours. Craft a legendary. Minus a bunch of hours.
No one’s going to be farming out a full set of honor gear. Conquest exists.
Yeah but the best way to grind Conquest gear was Arena and if you didnt want to Arena the best way was to do PvE assaults, Island Experdtions, i.e. PvE content. Their were WPvP but, WPvP just wasnt fun, u just joined a premade and Ganked Ppl questing or got Ganked doing dailies. Its like they wanted you to rotate through all the content even if you didnt like it. I just like BGs and occasional Arena depending on my Class and gear situation.
I hate how Blizzard tries to force PVP players to gear up through PVE. What do players really do? Go away for an expansion or quit entirely. I haven’t purchased SL and probably won’t. These stupid Conquest caps, randomly assigned loot you ARE FORCED TO TAKE. I have spend a month getting the same helmet just recently. One month, the same helmet for 4-weeks. This is stupid. Conquest vendors, remove caps, let people play and have fun, bring back Resillience…these can be implemented in one day and make the PVP game thrive again.
Instead, Blizzard caps your progress and forces you to PVE. I wouldn’t think much about this except I’ve been playing this Hunter since 2008…and WoW was different then, it was actually FUN.
I know their are some ppl that feel like BGers are salty. But imagine if the thing that you liked most in WoW was destroyed. Like What if you had to do 250 pet battles to get your BiS shoulders for raid. Or Your BiS weapon was locked to the timegated Mission table quests. All you wanna do is M+ and Raid to get stronger and learn the best strats and ways to clear them but you gotta spend 70% of your time doing something you hate or do not want to do.
Actually just refunded my SL pre-order for this exact reason. If they change anything then I may come back but I stopped playing Bfa because I didn’t want to grind for weeks/months to be able to catch up just to PVP.
My friends said to return for SL everyone will be on the same level and you can gear through PVP, seems more and more this isn’t the case.
I doubt even this. People on the beta forums were saying conquest gear appears to be rating gated up to ilvl 226. Mythic+ weekly vault can match what PvP players get for being rank 1 and raids go up to ilvl 233.
Most PvP’ers will probably get their long term BiS gear from Mythic+ weekly vault. PvP gear will at best be a supplement for slots they haven’t gotten a raid/vault piece for yet.
Sure. Like I said, it’s still been crazy easy to get conquest without rated participation.
If you want to cap conquest from literally just BGs in BfA, you can do that really consistently.
Like, what’s the issue? So much doomsaying on this forum for nothing. You don’t have to do 184,201 hours of BGs for an honor set because no one wants or needs a full honor set. If you want to acquire conquest from instanced PvP alone, you can do that.
