I Dislike Timed Mythic+ Dungeons!

That’s quite literally not true. The point of M+ is the timer and that has been the point since the start. They advertised it as “beat the timer to upgrade your key and earn better rewards” from the get-go. The only risk involved in keystones is the timer. The only competitiveness is the timer.

World of Warcraft is a resource-management game. Time is the biggest and most important resource you have to manage. Content that has no time-constraints is non-content.

M+ has timers. Raid bosses have enrage timers. PvP has dampening. You always live under the shadow of the clock on cutting-edge content.

Side-note: Because of the removal of Torments, this is the reason Torghast will never be a suitable replacement for the Mage Tower. Mage Tower had soft/hard enrage timers that you had to worry about, Torghast no longer has an equivalent. Nobody will care what cosmetics you have received from Torghast.

Well if M+ is being pitched nowadays as a key/major feature of the game, I think there’s merit in NOT turning it into a speedrun. Speedruns shouldn’t be a selling point and IMHO are the single worst part, since they are the antithesis of a MMORPG (but hey good for e-sports :-/ )

You guys act like you have to rush. That’s not really the case unless you are doing very high keys. I have timed plenty of 18s etc with well over 20 deaths and multiple full wipes. I timed a 22 with like 16 deaths and having to wait for people to run back.

There isn’t really that much of a hurry.

If you don’t want to see the timer get a weak aura or addon that counts % and hide the timer. There no more timer do whatever you want.

You’re welcome.

You have to rush because people have it in their head that they have to rush and it’s a speed run. Challenge Modes were fine for having a timer/being a speed run because they weren’t pitched as actual content and you could safely ignore them. You really can’t ignore M+ since they are now a cornerstone feature of the game.

OK so he then in discord and tell them they are wrong. Again crisis averted.

Blizzard says that the game is best enjoyed when you play it with friends. This is their ideology.

I disagree with it when it comes to a lot of content that people cannot be punished for doing and blizzards excuse is, if you don’t want bad people, or people that ruin it for you play with friends.

But I would say, if you want to run challenging content without timers, find 4 friends, or more and get a key to +15 and then just run the key for hours if you want, then run the 14 , and 13, 12 ,11 and so on.

Its like hardcore M+'s play with friends to push timers, you can find players to not care about timers.

I like this idea, but without the contempt for people who do enjoy it.

So, limit Lust from being used more than once per boss. Problem solved.

There is no problem to solve currently. M+ is fine with the timers. Also if people want to spend 2 hours completing a +6 they can. And you will get loot for it.

What Betol said. You only need to time one high key per week. Rest you can do at leisure.

There is a problem if the customer that the content is designed for doesn’t like the product.

I want to play in the NBA, but don’t feel that I can because the rim is way too high and I’m way too short.

The NBA should lower the rim to 3 feet so that it can be fair to all and so I can participate.

How many people do it at their leisure even after that versus treating any M+ as a speed run?

The problem is enough people do and think it’s the bee’s knees (there’s a phrase) that Blizzard doesn’t care and thinks lol streamer/e-sport stuff is the way to go.

Pretty sure that is a night and day comparison.

Mythic+ serve a purpose, in that they provide a challenging mode of play. Everyone knows that a +15 is much harder than a +5 and gives appropriately better reward for completion. And the timer is there as an extra part of the challenge. If you do it in time, you get an extra bag of goodies.

I’d say this - don’t worry about the timer if that’s what concerns you. I do Mythic+ with my social/casual guild and if we beat the timer, well and good. If we don’t, we still have fun, get some goodies and enjoy the social aspect of the game. It only gets fraught if you do it with pugs who are pushing keys and timers.

As in most things that are best with WoW, its about player choice. Play them or not, play them as you want, just don’t require that something be taken from the game just because you don’t happen to like it.

M+ is an overwhelming success. The vast majority like the system. Really the only thing I see that could be improved is the rewards system.

Hey another thread of lets change this into that because ME WANT without thinking about those that actually like said content like it is .

Sure lets remove timer to get 25% more participation while killing 45% of its participation 0.o

That’s a player perception problem. I have had like 20 deaths in a WCM 16 and we still timed it. The timer literally doesn’t mean anything until high keys assuming people in the group are SLIGHTLY better than gray parsers.

Last week in KR 16 we lost like two minutes to trash between first and second boss. We almost 2 chested.

Ok.

I want compete in the next summer olympics, but the timed relays happen way too fast for me and I don’t want for them to be timed, I just want each country to take their time while jogging and enjoy the scenery.

The Olympic committee should remove all timed events from the olympics so that fat and slow people like me can compete.
