I’ve been doing them on BM easy mode so I went straight to 8s to start getting gear and just stayed there for now.
Haven’t done them all but most of them have been fun. The underwater two though can go suck rocks where the sun don’t shine. Frontal cone attacks that take you down to 15% health don’t work in three dimensions when all the mobs are in linked groups and you can’t see which mob is doing the frontal because you’ve agroed five mobs and none of them are on the same plane. And oh look two mobs cast the cone, oops you’re dead to something you can’t avoid.
Congrats, now, just wait till you are doing an 8, taking your time and Zekvir appears out of absolutely nowhere and …

I’m a solo open world player, delves are so much fun for me. I haven’t touched LFR this expansion - aside from doing that story mode thing.
Took me a little bit to get to 8’s, been doing them for a couple of weeks now, but only on 2 characters.
But yeah, I felt you OP, totally.
He doesn’t have a “tank spec”. I’ve read there are ways to make him tank for you, I’ve not figured it out but I have seen some bosses go for him and not me on occasion and it’s given me a chance to heal and whatnot.

Im even 600 ilvl Fury an stuff hits to hard, an the RNG on some bosses are to much. Like the Nerubian Ritual boss in Skittering Breach. Ive done it a handful of times an now I cant beat it because I have to jump an interupt the beam that doesnt automatically go to me, an he just…drops pools on the spawn points so I die going in to kill the mobs. Right now its not ‘fun’ and ‘Exciting’ or ‘Rewarding’.

Im about ready to alt+f4 out of this RNG mess of Nerubian Ritual Delve. Ive done it 4 times in the past, an now Ive died to the point were its not worth it to do it anymore because the RNG is just aweful.
what is the problem you are having on it? the boss? i know the most problematic boss for me as mage is wax face on tier 8+ due to his aoe pulse thing he does. takes me to 15% hp each cast, can’t interrupt it, nothing. i had to put brann on full heal mode and kite. which made my candle run out, so it was a massive massive chore to beat for me.
but the one your running, maybe i can help? heck maybe i can even help you finish it later.
Why does that matter? Let people celebrate their accomplishments and talk about them. This is a general discussion board for WoW so this fits. Do we really have to always try and crush someone’s positivity?
I went bear for my first 8 and it went pretty smoothly. I’m going to try a few more today. I enjoy delves, I don’t enjoy the gimmicks (tanks having an easier time, for example).
Congratulations op. Don’t forget you can do delves as a group too and they still count. 8 8’s a week will net you the current max of 3 pieces of 616 ilvl in your vault.
The best part about reading these, beyond seeing the joy and excitement from folks, is seeing the validation that not everyone is simply a “hardcore m+” or “heroic/mythic raider”. This type of content gets denigrated so much from a very vocal minority that expect all content to be ridiculously difficult or involve them and their thirty ‘friends’, but there’s a LOT of players that delves are ideally targeted at. Especially given the toxicity that m+ has become in recent years.
I love this. I know if my wife still played we’d do delves all of the time, it’s like doing dungeons but without the pug nonsense. and a great way to get decent gear. Is it the best top end gear? No. But with crests and stones you can get to 619 eventually from it, which is amazing.
I can solo 8s, and I was able to clear most of 9 until the boss so just adding my voice to the rogue woes. Not all delves are created equal. Some are much easier than others for some specs.
I say “woes” but I am having fun. A ton of fun with delves, but I am feeling pain on anything that can’t be cced and that Brann has me yelling, “don’t stand there!” But don’t take this as a complaint! Just something I hope they balance out a bit while I continue to do something I’m loving very much.
