For a person who doesn’t already know the dungeons, and has never done either hard content or mythic+ specifically before, this is not a good time to start. Maybe there will be changes with season 2 that will help people who don’t do mythic+ to get started with it, but I doubt it.
Eh. Historically speaking S1 is usually the worst season and then it gets easier from there.
Then by S4 the sweats will be either on break or leveling 40 characters on whatever gimmick mode they give us and the actual game will mostly be made for normal people.
The turns will have tabled as they cry about having nothing to do in retail after telling you to stop crying about having nothing to do for a year or so.
I don’t consider hiding my motivations in a false virtue to be nuance. But people will be people especially on the interwebz.
One man’s deception and degeneracy is apparently another man’s nuance.
I think people who try to get started in mythic+ right now will end up swearing it off forever.
Sounds like the perfect time to tell people to try M+ to me then. Maybe we will get another focus for this game for the first time in a decade if people walk away from it.
It’s basically a win/win for the majority.
I did low keys in season 3, skipped season 4. I see no way to get into them.
They intentionally removed the learning curve to keep new entrants out of the content, so it would be more like an exclusive club. They were really successful at making it almost impossible to progress by pugging.
It’s a dead end. People will continue to quit. If Blizzard thought they could dupe casuals into running delves thousands of times over the expansion without getting bored, they should have done better research.
I’m not talking about picking the best guy from the list. I’m talking about turning down people with fine scores and waiting for some maxed out whale that never joins.
wait, you can get into M+?
Multiple 620s in multiple specs and Im lucky to even get a decline.
Tried earlier today, 620 tank, 3 hours, 0 bites. went gentle and applied for 2-6s(despite able to do greater easily). its not that people are quitting, its that people are demanding max myth gear for even a 2.
Then you have the regards that go “make your own group” without realizing that, you know, you need people to apply to get said key rolling.
I don’t really get it, you’ve been pretty combative since the start, you seem to have a dislike for others?
My nuance, for example, may be that I just like playing with my friends, even if we ‘fail’ together, it was more fun that succeeding with sweaty strangers that yelled, ping spammed or were otherwise toxic in some way. I don’t think my saying that is controversial, nor do I think using the term nuance is either?
I never thought about it this way, but it’s so true. The old 2-20 instead of 2-10 made more sense, gave more granular control over difficulty and gave people a significantly easier learning curve to dip their toes into the gametype.
Yeah I figured I’d try pushing as a dps but spent hours on end either trying to form my own or join something. I’m still trying to get the mount and then I might not bother with KSH again. It’s just slow and toxic and a waste of time.
Thats awesome, i have every 11+ timed on my sin rogue, and am now sitting at 2714, and spent 2 hours (exactly) trying to get into a 12 w ZERO invites. So i tried pushing my own +10 COT…which is now a +9…because no matter how good one person is, you cant fix 4 other stupids. Best part is they were all over 2500io. Now i have to time 3 dungeons, which I will get zero io for, just to attempt a 12. Im tired boss.
I’m in the same boat but as a DPS. And at the same time, below 10s is like a graveyard for my alts especially +9s in particular. And of course no one will invite you right into the +10s even seeing your main’s score as the same role, it’s such a mess this season and the rewards come so rarely it’s becoming less and less exciting to log in.
What exactly is the argument here? I’m totally lost with this bizarre train of thought of yours.
How exactly am I supposed to sabotage another’s M+ run to make mine succeed?
They literally did the opposite: they rebalanced M0 to be more meaningful specifically so that it could be used as a way to learn the Mythic dungeons without the pressure of the timer or the affixes.
Prior to DF S4, players were blazing through M0 and largely ignoring the mechanics, making it difficult, if not impossible, to learn the mechanics.
It’s really hard to get invites if you’re not ahead of the curve. If you can push your IO just a little bit higher with your own keystone, you will get many more invites.
Then you will be stuck with a much harder problem: getting into 13s.
And pushing your own keystone requires you to time a 12 just to try again (:
Idk what you want man 2800 is better than mostly everyone playing wow, at this point you need to find a solid group to continue the progression
i’m stuck at +4/5 because I get frustrated.
As a tank, I am still learning how best to deal with mechanics and groups fall apart frequently nowadays.
I got to say, this weekend it was wild - as a holy priest with ilvl 621 and 2,300 io and all 8s timed I was getting denied to 8s and 9s - took a solid 30 mins to get into a group.
Which then disbanded after a hunter pulled extra mobs that wiped us.
It definitely feels wild this season.
by the way, the real problem you have run into is not that everyone has quit.
You are in the top 3% of the m+ world. there just aren’t that many people there.
according to raider io, there are fewer than 23,000 players who have completed all 11s.
in contrast, there are ~413,000 who have done all +2s.
the air up where you are is pretty thin…
Maybe all the good hard carry rando folks are burned out from the toxicity? I know I am.
Oh I’m sorry I mean to say “unhelpful comments”. That’s right, M+ isn’t toxic at all, folks just have high expectations and will give the not-so-goodest feedback ever. It’s not toxic, no. Just unconstructively rude.
I don’t know, but I would love to know, as I am a filthy casual/newbie who doesn’t like Googling how to play a video game and would rather learn how to do it myself.
I got kicked from a Timewalking dungeon because I got turned around and went the wrong way for all of six seconds. As a DPS, mind you, outside of a boss fight.
The learning curve gets a really gnarly spike when NOBODY else in the game (specifically I mean things well outside Mythic that ‘don’t matter’, per se) is willing to give you a couple of seconds to make stupid mistakes like “dying to half the horde of crap the tank couldn’t keep aggro on after pulling and getting lost on the way back from respawn”
