Eh, none of those things even address the main issue ---- Phase 2.
Phase 1 is somewhat manageable once you get a good grip on the pattern.
Phase 2, however, is what kills you.
The main punch ability, w/e its called, needs a straight up 50% nerf.
Half the fight is RNG. Not to mention, as bear, you CANNOT use any DR cooldowns until last 3 punches. I am sorry, but thats kinda insane. The second you use a single Survival Instinct prior to 3rd punch (3rd stack), that’s it. You might as well jump off.
Oh I am going for the 36 achievement. Just going to take my time with that… lol. I am focusing on the mogs first. Then collecting sets for the other specs. So far 2/36 for the achiveement. 2/12 for the mogs. I just wish this was up all the time. 2 weeks seems very annoying to have to rush to do, especially since some people can be busier then others. If this feature was around all the time like any other raid/group content it wouldn’t be a bad thing to hunt these items, as you do that in solo rpgs and stuff. Heck it might even encourage more crafting.
Like I used the heirloom trinket on my warrior for some self healing on imps. That was nice. That heirloom trinket really does alot of healing with a bunch of adds.
Eh, I’m getting Kruul down to about 12-15k health pretty consistently in my latest attempts (wearing 247-248ish gear weighted towards haste/crit). I feel like a flat 10% nerf to the boss health might just be enough to push a lot of people “within range” of actually getting a kill.
I’m nothing special, pretty much all the gear I’m wearing is just standard Shadowlands M+ gear with a few PvP pieces here and there. I don’t have any Legion TW “twink” gear (never touch TW myself), unfortunately… or else it might already be dead.
I too noticed this. When I had my shadowlands pvp gear equipped including weapon, I noticed I was doing substantially less dps almost 200 less dmg. However, When I equipped my old legion pve set and a heirloom wpn. I went from doing 700 dps to about 900-1000 dps. What is up with that?
So if you’re getting him down to 15k, 10% nerf will equal to roughly 10k.
Won’t make a difference if you still get 1 shot by 4th punch. Idk about warriors, but druids simply do NOT have this kinda damage output. We don’t even have burst. Bears are THE lowest damage-output-wise tank… THE lowest. We are 1/4 of VDH of dps st.
Bring some unbridled fury potions if you haven’t yet, they do loads of damage and last a full minute. Comes in super clutch for the tight dps check in P2.
5k health is an amount I think I could probably overcome with better play/squeezing a little more DPS out of myself… but I can’t really squeeze another 15-20k damage out of my Bear, the damage just isn’t there from the spec (like you said).
Once you’re out of gas, you’re out of gas. Once you’ve used up all your CDs, once you’re out of options, that’s it
Idk if he was joking but it really does need a serious whack with the nerf bat just to bring it in line with how incredibly undertuned players are going into these challenges without any kind of borrowed power which is like not having half of your talents or even worse for some specs. These encounters were not at all tuned down to reflect the loss of Legion legos or artifact traits and it’s painfully obvious for anyone who has done both versions. And yeah, say what you will but timewalking is supposed to be easy and has always been marketed as such by Blizzard, this event is the deviation not the norm.
I would be careful making these types of generalizations because most of what you say at least at max level without templates and scaling being applied is absolutely false. In fact as a Night Fae Guardian druid, you are the highest ST burst tank spec of all 6 and as a Venthyr you’re the highest sustained AoE damage tank of all 6.
That said, scaling and templates can and have always been problematic.
It very well could be the last minute buffs to the encounters simply made some of the fights a bit out of reach of some specs and play styles with how we get scaled back. But that’s nothing to do with the class and more to do with the scaling system proper.
I just did a few tests, I threw on all the old end of BfA corruption gear I had in the bank because it all had sockets, an heirloom weapon with two gems, and two old Nyalotha trinkets and I’m doing about 65% more damage than the squished current stuff. Yay?
