I can't log into the game

I can’t log into the game. I can’t get any help. I want credit to my account.

Why cant you log in there can be lots of reasons blizzard only credits time for wrongful suspensions and extended down time.

Where do I create a ticket? I posted in the tech support forum.

Have you rebooted your system? That’s usually the very first trouble-shooting step.

Yes, I have rebooted the system. The support link I followed brought me to a page of known issues. None of them fit my issue. Last evening I had the same problem, but it worked after rebooting. Today, after it updated, I can’t get in for anything, I retrieves the realm list then it go to “Logging in to game server.” Its stays on that for a couple of minutes and then disconnects me.

Just to set expectations on this. Blizzard does not guarantee 100% up time for the game, or that it won’t have access issues from time to time. You will not get game time credit for your log in issue.

Blizzard has been known to grant credit after events that take down the whole game for long periods of time for all players, but not for individual issues.

I see based on your history that you do use addons. Those tend to cause havoc with new updates as big as this. Another troubleshooting step to try is a UI reset. Use the option to rename or move your folders so you can put them back if it does not help. That way you don’t have to redo your addons if it is not helpful.

You can also try, separately, a scan and repair just in case there are corrupted files somewhere. It does not cause harm, so is worth a try.

I had that happen about a month back, repairing the game or doing a clean install would be my recommendations.

Clicking on the battle net desktop app ( on windows Battle.net.exe) it immediately opens the Battlenet launcher ( on windows Battle.net Launcher.exe) There’s no way to keep the BattleNet app open. I see the cog wheel on it but it immediately closes and opens the launcher. No cog wheel on the launcher.

I am trying to figure out what you are describing. The launcher is the Battlenet Desktop App. Cog wheel should be next to the Play button. To the right of it.

There is a settings cog on the launcher but it doesn’t have a repair function that I can find.

Thanks, I found it. I’m scanning World of Warcraft now. If that doesn’t fix it, I guess I’ll just reinstall everything.

Try the UI reset too. Once you are done with the scan and repair and test that. Never move files that are being worked on!
