I can't follow the logic of the Ulduar gear buff

The problem was that stats skyrocketed after Ulduar, making all the gear in Ulduar no longer desirable. The Tier 9 & 10 ilvl squish seemed to be the obvious solution. Now they’re instead buffing the gear that drops in Ulduar, which basically just takes the same problem, and gives it to us one phase earlier.

This also seems to be an effective nerf to the difficulty of Ulduar, since the gear that becomes available during this phase will now be significantly stronger. Meaning that Ulduar hardmode achievements will be much easier to achieve than it originally was once people start getting buffed Ulduar loot.

Im not sure if you actually read the post, but they are releasing pre nerf Ulduar. It says in original Wrath there were several nerfs to Ulduar

25 man gear is already better than 10 man gear. Why buff 25 man Ilvl by double what they’re boosting 10 man gear by?

Because hard mode will actually be hard if its pre nerf. Also the items will take a while to get read the loot table. Everything is outlined in post. Ulduar is also better than TOC so this literally solves everything

You say that now, but when you are doing Ulduar for the 32 week in a row your tune will be different…

Its either Ulduar or Toc and Toc is boring so

This is looking for a solution to a problem that doesn’t really exist. That or Classic devs wanting to do something “new” (they are creatives, after all, re-doing old work is very boring to creatives).

Ulduar does not need changed. Wrath does not need changed. With the exception of class balance arguments, it is widely considered the “best” expansion (TBC classic didn’t really capture what TBC was like back in the day) now.

There once was a time people did WoW content because it was fun, not because it offered some kind of reward. Some of us miss/desire that. That’s why we’re playing classic. I don’t care that gear after Ulduar is massively better, I’ll still do Ulduar because it is fun.

Stop it. You’re (Blizz) getting way too comfortable with “some changes” mentality. You’re going to ____ this up. Stop looking for problems to solve. This ain’t it.

Some specs / entire classes dont come online until ToC ilvl’s. I feel like this is the push in the right direction actually, and would enable fire mages and warriors to enjoy the wrath gameplay a little bit earlier in the expansion.

They are doing good #Changes and you guys still complain ?

They are providing a good and rewarding gear progression. It’s really good.

And I’m on the opposite end of that I would much rather see them buff Ulduar Then nerf the future tears the other solution they could do is just oh I don’t know leave it out longer.

On top of that the logic is flawed yes back in the day that is true most people didn’t go back to Ulduar However back on the day it was only out for 3 months.

But tbc classic is a good example of this How many people that didn’t Need to go back to kaera Went back to Kara for one reason or another on top that we have achievements it achievements and I can see it being cleared a lot more.

And well there’s ostle the mount On top of that there’s a lot of classes that this would affect you in a really bad way Fire images fury Warriors To name at least 2.

So yeah I like this solution way better although I haven’t actually seen the blue post or talking about I’m looking for it.

But yeah I would much rather see them do this because one it’s a lot simpler and 2 It just feels better.

Was going to post, but it is obvious OP only read the title of the blue post and not everything within. This is change would actually be quite awesome.

It could be neither and just be the normal 16 weeks for both.

taking stuff away from the player base feels bad ie; nerfing ilvl of toc and icc, giving more feels good, but both have the same outcome from Blizzards perspective. it’s a much better option imo.

This is sarcasm right? Yes?

They are making the game too hard

“Too hard” ? It’s gonna be like it used to be. So, it won’t be “too hard” it’ll be like it was back then.

Pre-nerf doesn’t mean “buffing the content to a new level” it’s just mean removing the nerfs.

I honestly think it’s a great idea, if they Nerf it. Then classes are gunna play Completely different.

I’m not sure if the classic community is ready to hear this, but not every pug sr/gdkp is going to clear every boss on hard mode in ulduar 25 pre nerf. You might be stuck waiting for toc gear before the majority are clearing it.

It’s not going to be hard. You can look up the fights right Now and make a note of every second for the encounter.

Speaking as someone who was there for the OGs, I’ll take week 32 of Ulduar over week 32 of ToC any day of the week. Ulduar is a genuinely incredible raid, my #1 raid, and consistently in most folks’ Top 5. Blizzard did a disservice to it initially when it kneecapped it with ToC.
