I Buy Boosts and Am Not Ashamed

It’s not just on the forums, but even in-game; people try to shame boostees in much the same way that they try to shame anyone who uses a store mount or mog.

Boosting is a useful in-game service for many of us. How we spend our own gold should not warrant such nasty and negative backlash. Without boosting, more runs would be a slog by us baddies or many of us just simply would not play because we don’t want to bash our head against pug walls. I’m sorry our purchases may water down someone else’s ability to lord over others, but that is not a boostee problem.

Also, just because someone buys a boost doesn’t automatically make them “bad at the game”. We need to get rid of that mentality, much like how we need to get rid of the “store buyer=bad person” mentality. Do baddies exist? Sure. Is it often easier to “skip the line” when it comes to pugging things? Yup! Not all of us can commit our entire lives to the microprogression that pugs want to see before an invite, nor do we enjoy flushing hours upon hours down the drain because someone else decided to not use more than 1 button in their rotation or straight-up joined just to troll and drop 1 second after the M+ timer starts. (For the record, I have not bought M+ boosts since Legion).

Although I don’t like how many gold boosters operate, gold boosting itself is fine and gold boosting needs to stay. I will continue to be spend my gold however I please.

P.S. There’s a special place in Hades for RMT boosters and I do not support RMT boosters OR RMT boostees. Do it legit or quit.

aye man it’s not against ToS so nothing to be ashamed of. hell i know a lot of people who buy gold in classic off 3rd party websites. how? because they told me in discord. not only that you can also purchase gold legally via tokens.

i mean if people dislike boosting then just don’t do it? lots of people still running content on their own anyways so it’s not like it’s going to kill off the game. biggest issue is it helps to promote scammers by people “selling” boosts.

It’s not against TOS, so more power to you.

It’s my personal opinion boosts are bad for the game because it’s pay 2 win, as you can buy ~200,000 gold for $20.00. You can pay cash to make your character stronger. Not a fan.

The only shameful part is that you could have done it with very little effort but it’s your money

What about pvp boosting?

Gunna stop ya right there Mr. Beak.

It’s not a fair portrayal for you to try to compare store mounts to in-game boosting. I feel it’s a dishonest attempt to try and divert your deserved shame for Boosting in the first place.

Paying, either via gold or money>gold to have people carry you things you otherwise couldn’t be doing is far different than purchasing a mount of transmog from an in-game store.

Boosting chips away at the integrity of gaming and gamers itself while creating an unhealthy in-game atmosphere where people then set unrealistic goals for themselves, which spirals out even further into numerous other social in-game issues.

Boosting is unethical, wrong and downright nasty and you should feel ashamed for admitting that you Boost.

Not on my watch will I allow gamers anywhere to try to make Boosting/Carrying/etc acceptable or mainstay.

Have some respect for yourself and if your going to pay people to do things you can’t achieve yourself, at least don’t admit it to anyone, especially not your fellow gamers.

Edit: Note also if you weren’t ashamed and/or Boosting was acceptable in gaming you wouldn’t make a thread trying to convince otherwise.

Who asked, though?

Wait, what?

Who’re you to tell people what they can and can’t do? Integrity? What?? It’s a video game which exists for entertainment purposes.

Since when do you (or anyone) get to dictate how someone participates in their own form of entertainment (ESPECIALLY since it’s well within the ToS and even supported by the upper big wigs at Blizzard in selling runs)?

I don’t really care, or see the need, regarding the purpose of this thread by the OP … but I’m not gonna sit by and not say something when I see someone spout nonsense in belittling others on how they choose to play.

You’re entitled to your opinion, but understand your opinion is just that - an opinion.

You have a good day now, y’hear? :vulcan_salute:

That’s different. PvP boosting can’t be done without cheating or account sharing.

I didn’t think of that. I was thinking win trading and stuff. I’m not too worried about PvP carries. If they had to be carried they probably don’t have the skill to match the gear.

Win trading isn’t really boosting. It’s win trading. Or at least that’s how I’ve always viewed it. Boosting usually implies being carried in content that you can’t do yourself for any number of reasons.

Nothing wrong with it as I see it.

Its just sad. Really sad. As many to not lose rate then slum it on pug unrated forever after. But its their money so whatever floats their boat. me…I am unrate “scrub”…but its cost me no gold to run unrated lol.

My disdain of raiderio for pve is not isolated to pve you see. I could not care less if a player is 250 ilevel and 2100+ or unrated.

Can they run the epic BG right as we change out strats on the fly when the other side plays well? What i care about.

NUmbers are numbers. Its the player. Eve taught me that. We all have many alts there. A player doesn’t forget 10 years of fleet and combat experience when they hop on the 1 year old alt lol.

Just because you’re not embarrassed doesn’t mean second hand embarrassment is abolished.

Time to go grind Timewarped Badges so I can spend them on bags of northern spices again.

Maybe they’re boots with the fur (the fur).

This made my enthusiasm value go so low it looped back to the maximum possible value and cured my major depressive disorder.

It is much easier and takes much less time for some people to make that money in real life than to put in that effort in game. Hard concept, I know.

You’re ashamed of that post history though lol.
