Hello,
I’m the brother mentioned in a previous post regarding a ban appeal. My account was banned at the exact same second as my brother’s, but his ban was recently lifted. I’m posting here in hopes of getting help from a GM, as my previous appeals keep getting closed.
I’m new to World of Warcraft and can assure you that we were doing absolutely no cheating whatsoever. I even have Twitch VODs that show my gameplay, proving that I was simply playing the game fairly. Despite this, my appeals have been denied, and the last response stated that no future appeals would be reviewed.
I’m just trying to get this sorted out and clear my name. Any help would be greatly appreciated if you’re reading this GMs.
Thank you!

There isn’t any GMs on the forums, and all you can do appeal until they tell you to stop. Once they say that, it’d be the time to stop.

And what about the gameplay when you don’t have a stream on? Or do you literally stream yourself waking up and sleeping 24/7?
This is why Blizzard don’t take video’s as evidence.
As Zenjy said, appealing is your only available step. We’ve seen people getting unbanned (including your “brother”) so a false positive is entirely possible here.

First of all why didn’t you appeal at the same time as your brother. Do not try lawyering your appeal here as it will not work and only get you in hot water.
Appeal until they say no more appeals, do not conflate the appeal with superfluous information that has nothing to do with your appeal. And don’t tell them anything about your videos that you stream it has nothing to do with your appeals. Only supply facts that’s all.

Much like Zenjy said, GMs do not come here. The closest you will find is Vrak and Orlyia around, and I don’t believe they have any control over how your appeal/suspension is handled. If they haven’t said that your appeals won’t be seen anymore, you can keep putting them in and there is still a chance the decision will get overturned. But once they tell you to stop, that’s their final word on the matter. I hope things get solved for you, however.

Unfortunately, as soon as they tell you they’re no longer looking at appeals that’s the end of the road. I wouldn’t recommend continuing to send them: Continuing to send appeals can be considered GM Harassment.
Maybe a CSR can provide more information but as it stands it seems their decision is final.

Good luck with your appeals. Hoping the best for you. Glad to hear they lifted the ban for your brother. Hoping you can get the same treatment. Keep appealing until they tell you that they will consider it harassment if you keep putting them in.
Make sure to speak to them like they are humans, and in a professional tone.
Happy Holidays

The problem with VODS and the reason that Blizzard will not except them is because they don’t tell the entire story. There may be times you didn’t record your game play, they can be edited, and they don’t show what you have installed on your computer that may not have been used at the time.
Now, if I’m remembering right, your brother admitted to have AHK on his computer (for work). I’d suggest reviewing any programs installed on your computer, whether you’ve used them in WoW or not, that could automate gameplay. It could be something you used for work, another game, or something entirely different. Even if not used in WoW, Warden may pick them up if they’re stored in the memory.
All you can do is submit another appeal and hope for the best.
Edited to add: If you’ve ever used your Brother’s computer to sign into your account while it had AHK installed on it, it may be what flagged your account also.

I’m not sure why it’s being suggested that the OP continues to file appeals when they mention,
Continuing beyond this stage is just going to cause more trouble.

You’re not wrong. However I have to ask.
If they are actually innocent what are they supposed to do here?
Because it turned out his brother was innocent, and got unbanned. Some of us posting in this thread participated in his brothers thread as well. They were both banned at the same time for the same reasons.

The fact that it’s been upheld that many times indicates that blizzard has enough data to indicate that they aren’t.

Same thing happened to his brother at the same time, and it took 4+ appeals to get overturned.
So again I ask. If they are actually innocent what are they supposed to do here?

The answer is nothing. If they have been told to stop appealing, then there is nothing they can do at all.

Thats a bummer for folks who might actually be innocent

If the ban was upheld to this point, they are not innocent in Blizzard’s eyes.

I wonder what was different between his, and his brothers cases.
Hopefully OP has some insight as to what he may have been doing differently than his brother during their gaming sessions. As you pointed out it doesnt look good in Blizzards eyes.

Same reason yes.
But, when Blizzard looks at the log data, there could be slight differences between the two cases.
If using separate computers, that could be the crucial difference. Something installed on one, and not the other? A bad hardware macro? Might seem insignificant but could easily be the difference between why one was overturned and not the other.
And likely actually happening as often as it would appear. It’d be an extremely low percentage of anyone 100% innocent not having the account penalty overturned.
Often over the years we have seen people claim black and blue that they think they’re innocence, and not realising that something they did and thought was okay was actually a breach of rules.
Honestly, that would be between them and Blizzard.

My brother is 100% innocent.
I was the one who talked him into trying WoW when The War Within came out, and even bought it for him and he was having an absolute blast. He’s actually more upset about losing his retail characters than anything else and has almost completely lost interest in playing Classic because of this whole mess.
We played hard for 4–5 days at launch, only to be perma-banned at the exact same moment. No one else in our 5-man premade group was affected—just my brother and me. They are still unbanned and waiting for him to get unbanned so we can resume dungeon grinding together.
As many of you know, my ticket was sent for further review by a team, and they overturned my ban. However, my brother’s tickets keep getting closed without being sent for further review. It’s incredibly frustrating and unfair, and I really hope Blizzard will give his case the proper attention it deserves.

While I think we can appreciate that you want to vouch for your brother, this is not an appeals channel and I’m afraid testimony doesn’t help in the appeals process. The best and only means to appeal is to go through the ticket option.
I don’t wish to add to the impression that posting here helps, so I’m going to lock this one up.
