to people who have played wow all along and not ever on a private server.
blizz put out a survey where they’ve essentially admitted they’re rereleasing private server classic
i have paid to play this game for like half of my life. and now they’re going to reward thieves at our expense?
this is not about classic itself. but about how they have gone off the deep end chasing money instead of caring about the game and those of us who have played it all along.
this is a low i’d never thought i’d see them go to.
my knee jerk reaction to this is not a positive one.

Progression severs were popular even in EQ days

It’s what Classic players wanted.
To re-run 16 year old content all day long. Of course Blizzard will milk that.
Except these players forgot about one tiny thing: They were playing for free and now they pay $15 per month.

the thing i find odd about it is they claim to play because it’s so much “harder” than retail to them, but all these changes make it much easier. end game is a joke vs retail. so if they want a harder game why would they want these changes in the first place?

Wait whats the point of this. To get to 60 then do nothing but run dungeons for gold after getting geared? No raids or anything?

Dont Classic players just want to do classic over and over anyways? I’m confused how THIS version of classic is an affront to you, sir.

they essentially wanna stop before AQ is out. i think because of the increase in difficulty. they wanna do leveling and first little bit then they get bored and want to do it again. thats when on the classic forums they all started whining about FRESH.
The only problem blizz had with Private servers is that that is money they dont see.
Private servers with custom rates are popular for a reason. And blizz want a slice of the custom cake

It’s harder only in the terms of the journey to 60 because resources take a lot of time to generate while you:
- Have a cup of tea
- Read the local news
- Go to sleep
- Have breakfast, lunch and dinner with dessert
And come back to find you gained 10 mana or 10 rage or 10 energy and you can press one button.
Of course I was exaggerating but you get the point. It’s only hard because the resource generation is so slow that mobs have a LOT more chances to hit you before you do something.
I called this before classic even went live.
Very popular. In fact its the primary feature keeping EQ alive at this point. The release of the latest progression server was so successful they had to have a sister server alongside it because so many people came back to play.
Theres going to be a point where you have multiple eras of WoW available at the same time, and personally I think its a great idea.

They need a new server for that, or is it just a different patch so the gameplay balance is different? I mean classic still exists doesnt it?
I mean from my understanding classic/bc raiding is like lfr lvl
Meanwhile over in retail…you blink and you’re max level and your HP and Mana/Rage bar didn’t move an inch.

they want it to be rereleased 3904759347593485 times so they can redo it 9783459348759348593485 times.
People man. I tell ya.
Not sure why existing classic realms cant just be the place to do it, but w/e floats someones boat lmao
What’s funny is that the same people boasting about Classic’s RPG journey are also part of the Boosting Brigade a.k.a “Why is it wrong if I can skip 58 levels of tedious levelling to get to TBC”
the things they say they want is a fresh economy with no boosts. but really they just want to do the initial gearing stage and kill the first few raids. look in the dungeon journal for the “mechanics” of any pre-naxx boss. ijs.
Because old stale content that is easily beaten is the pinnacle of gaming!

Don’t you feel a sense of pride and accomplishment at beating a raid within 45 mins of it’s official release?

That and that pesky little thing about copyright and intellectual property law.
(edit- all these years and I still use write instead of right. Damn swiss cheese brain)

False. They had to do something to stop those private servers because not C&D them would lead to a loss of IP rights or something like that. It was a waste of time breaking them all so they just made their own.
