I get the same amount of pride as making my way through the maze on the for kids paper mat at the Ihop
Interesting how people skip this when it comes to “nostalgia” on private servers lmao!
I dont understand what this thread is talking about. I think this is another one of those things where people skip stuff and talk like they think everyone knows what theyre talking about and is already in the know of what theyre talking about, but theyre really not. Which happens way too much on these forums
i was so #nochanges and then i realized it was the private server people trying to keep the game exploitable. and now they’re actually recreating a private server experience on official blizzard servers. whatever integrity i had assumed they had left…
I assumed most people already know that. But yes. It’s ilegal.
they don’t lose their Ip rights. It is to keep their Ip safe, not from lose. but from branding and try to not do what the Club Penguin private servers did, wich where buch of bad stuff wich tainted the IP for disney.
Ok so they are preparing to do what Everquest does and have these sort of fresh start servers where they progress through expansions at a set rate as well as some fast progression servers for people who might just want to raid…i think.
Interesting the only questions ive seen them ask the community about retail was if people plan to play FFXIV.
Very stark difference in details they asked about classic vs retail.
It seems like they want to know if the slow levelling is killing classic? Which i mean lets be real here you can only run molten core so many times…
I want to see a classic experience with changes. I already was a #ChangeallBoringstuff. So I am curious if people dont screw this oportunity.
Because those realms have already run the course. For many Classic players, it’s about the progression, and the community, and subsequently the progression of the community. It’s a bit less enjoyable to jump in at say the Naxx patch, and try to start from ground zero to catch up. That’s partly why retail has very accessible catchup gear almost every patch.
Fresh servers also give people something to do again after “completing” the previous cycle of progression. It’s not terribly different from replaying your favorite RPG, just on an MMO scale if you really, really preferred one expansion’s particular design. It’s not for me, but I can understand how people could get enough value out of going through these cycles over and over again with different goals, as a different class, etc. Eventually there’s still an upper limit on that, but re-playability is there.
Its just a bunch of retail players crapping on classic because they don’t like it. Just another example of mmorpg tribalism.
i was planning on rerolling on BB and making a second home on classic era but this will kill any hope of that being an actual thing. now it’s gonna be a endless loop of people rushing to cap and burning themselves out and then whining getting patches released earlier. and then people threatening to quit if it doesn’t restart as soon as they want. this is like the first bit of classic, forever.
At this point they should just remake Classic with new graphics.
Oh i didnt know that was part of the appeal with the private servers.
So you just keep regrinding the same gear and quests and dungeons eh.
Must be the ppl you play with. Thanks for clarifying
Maybe I’m missing something here, but where’s the theft? I thought classic era players wanted fresh servers?
not from me. i play classic all the time. read my comment about yours. i was actually waiting for phase 6 forever for the community aspect. but it’s gone. now forever.
Another example of GD finding anything they can to complain about.
Blizzard owns the IP , they can do whatever they want…will you buy/invest ? that is up to you
What is the point of this stupid thread?
Isn’t classic era already dead? I thought the lion’s share of players went to BC. Fresh servers were supposed to help remedy that.
do you know what classic era was supposed to be and how they just nuked it from orbit. and the difference between wow players and private server players?
