I am mostly for #nochanges but think duel spec should be added

I think just adding in duel spec would help people a lot. I know there are some cons to it but ultimately there’s a lot more pros. I swear duel spec was added late in Vanilla? My memory is super fuzzy though so I could be wrong may not been until TBC.

Anyways I personally don’t really need duel spec but I think a lot of people would chill out a bit and have more fun if there was duel spec in game. I am mostly for #nochanges but some things were clearly smart additions like duel spec that should just be added. At least in my opinion.

I don’t like the cost either, but it’s there for a reason. And it wasn’t added until wrath.

It came out in Wrath IIRC. I hope most of the #nochanges extremist stay with Classic servers when BC servers come out. That way we have a chance of getting Dual-Spec in BC.

In BC, it was pretty common to have 2 toons of the same class. I know it seems silly. If you really like the class and like making alts it is a solution to not worrying about redoing talents.

There are hundreds of ways that Vanilla can be improved. Blizzard agrees – that is why they added all these changes to WoW, every year for 15 years.

But Classic is “before the changes”. Classic is not “a new experiment at making the best game, starting at Vanilla and going a different way”. It is a copy of the “before the changes” game.

So “improving” is NOT a reason for changing Classic.

I’ve seen many posts since August, saying “keep Classic, but make one change”. Unfortunately each poster wants a different “one change”. You either say yes to them all (and get hundreds of changes) or say no to them all.

Great idea for Classic Reforged, due out in about 10 to 12 years from now!

Probably easier just to lower the respec cost. If they can’t program a key ring, dual spec would take 2 years to come out

The keyring thing is getting quite annoying, and should have been in on release as it came out the patch prior to the one we are playing on.

nope, never going to happen. next troll thread please!

I’m fine with changes as long as they are actual improvements and don’t fundamentally change the game.

I don’t think we need dual spec, we just need to reduce the respec cost cap from 50g to like 10g.

People will say that the high respec cost is good because it removes gold from the game, preventing inflation. But paradoxically, raising respec costs doesn’t necessarily remove more gold from the game because a lot of people choose to just never respec because it is too expensive. But if respecs are cheap, people tend to respec constantly because it is cheap.

I main a druid, and if respec costs were say, 5g, I would probably respec nearly every day. But when respec costs go up to 50g, I tend to keep the same spec as long as possible.

And it cost a 1000g on EACH of your alts back in Wrath… still, worth the money.

That wasn’t even a BC change, but maybe WotLK.

For “mostly no changes”, you, um, certainly are jumping into the change pool deep end, heh.

So much this.

Personally I hate respeccing, even when its affordable.

Rift drove me crazy because of this for some reason.

This is the best explanation I have seen. Ty

Just go play on a pserver with a house ruleset if you want changes. I want TBC that is TBC, not whatever mangled version is your “dream” game.

would love to see improvements to the respec system in classic

As someone who’s actually in support of changes and Classic+…no.

The reason why is that it makes building a spec more interesting. Most players can’t realistically pay 50g everytime they want to switch from raiding to pvp, so building a hybrid build that tries to cover your bases matters more. Trying to optimize the balance between the modes of play you normally engage in can be really interesting.

If you’re complaining because respecs are too expensive…I think you’re missing the point.

Good luck staying in a serious raiding guild with that attitude. If you’re a healer or tank, you are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to the respec system. It’s a tax on playing specs that people already tend to avoid.

Also the only real gold sink once you have your epic mount. Even pures who want to be the best will respec twice a week, since no ones best pve spec is also their best pvp spec, and if you want to min max, you will pay the troll toll.

This was my only exception to “no changes” when the game was announced. Always thought it was BS some classes get to use their PvE spec for PvP and some classes had to pay a ton of gold.
