I am living in delves

I know they have issues and are hit and miss for some, and I hope they fix them soon, but Ill be damned I love these. Get to prep for these like a raid. Enchants, food, potions, etc. But no drama. You win or lose on your own merits and get the appropriate rewards. And guaranteed loot. None of this busting your butt for a night and walking away with nothing. And can do them whenever. Right after work/dinner, 7am. All day long (yes, I know bountifuls are capped on your keys).

Got to T8 last night and finished my 4th bountiful. Gearing up in Champ 597 gear and a few 600-610 feels great. (610 from those special rare chests) and knowing ill have heroic gear in my vault come Tuesday…

Seriously, I just really enjoy Delves

I like big delves
Pretty kitty delves
Really witty delves
Singing ditty delves (sorry JoCat)

Same. I like them a lot too. But to be fair we’re a Warlock and a Hunter, two classes that already can solo really easily because of our pets. I want to test these out more on my other classes and see how they feel but I agree they are a lot of fun. Hopefully every class has at least one spec that’s good for delves?

Yeah, haven’t tried my Ret Pally yet. My opinion may changed based on that. It really should be viable for every class.

I wish if I was queued for other stuff while in a delve solo, it would plop me back where I was when I finish the dungeon/bg/LFR etc

I think they’re filling a niche that was missing for a lot of players. It’s unfortunate that they got off to a rough start, but they’re actively being adjusted, and the designers are taking on board a lot of feedback from the community. I hope that players that got a bad first impression will give them another try because I think they’ll be pleasantly surprised.

What’s his ilvl? I struggled a bit when I was in 570s. Seems like ilvl means a lot this season. When I hit the mid 580s tier 8 delves were pretty good to me. I beat the tier 8 Fungal Folly boss when I was like 576 - but I think I got lucky and it didn’t go after me and I just safely stayed on top of the rock and burned him down to death while Voidwalker tanked lol. I tried that again on another tier 8 and I had to move more but I still killed it- but also was higher ilvl. Now I’m in the 590s and they are a lot more fun lol. Once I get even more gear I’ll try the higher levels.

I was enjoying them just as much, then balancing happens, once they fix this I will be happy with them again. Idk some delves are just brutal and brann is useless for me.

I decided to pug a few m0’s yesterday. Nope’d out after the first one and went back to delves. People are atrocious at mechanics this early in the expansion.

I wasn’t crazy about delves at first, but I’m starting to like them more, since I can get some gear without dealing with pugs.

The structure of them and the actual gameplay loop for me is extremely enjoyable. I haven’t intentionally passed tier 5 yet or even tried to because I’m not going to start end game content until I finish leveling my alt army to max level.

With that said, it’s a new end game pillar that they’ve introduced, tuning changes and other implements were inevitably always going to be needed in order to smooth things out during the starting parts of the first season.

I’m not saying that Blizzard needs to get a free pass from legitimate feedback, criticism, or any kind of negativity for them, I’m just saying that it’s a process and they need to be given the benefit of the doubt in some cases to smooth things out for every player type.

Not everyone is willing to give them that chance based on prior experiences, but I am.

Maybe my tune will change once I start doing higher difficulty levels when I start my end game ventures, but as a gameplay loop, I enjoy them immensely and hopefully they stick around long-term.

Yep, I really love them. It’s impressive that they made them work for such a large variety of classes and specs. A couple (mages and spriests) have a slightly harder time - but even then there are Brann items that allow him to tank a little better and such.

Super fun. Lets you experiment with builds and talents and gameplay more than maybe any time in the past

I haven’t raided higher than LFR since Legion. I got burned out with having to raid on a schedule (and wiping 96 times on a mythic boss). I really enjoy delves! They are perfect for me, a primarily solo player who occasionally plays with my husband and son. I’ve been able to solo up to tier 8 and duo up to tier 9. After I get my vault piece on Tuesday I’m going to attempt tier 9 solo. I love having to use all of my class’s powers, which I rarely get to do in heroic/mythic 0 or the open world. I really hope delves are here to stay for players like me.

I’m enjoying them. I’m not super confident on my mage, she’s always been an alt. But this expansion I’m maining the mage and delves are really helping familiarize myself with the toolkit.

Cleared rank 6 today and unless 7 is a huge step up I should be able to work my way through that, too. 8’s the goal, but it seems far away at the moment.

Stuff like delves and (to a far lesser extent) awakening the machine are kind of forcing me to get good.

Yeah. I still have 8 keys. So ill run those this weekend. Hopefully fully geared at 600+ and get that 616 piece tuesday and next weekend do 9-13. Either pug a normal raid or just run lfr for a weapon (i require that bow)

6 to 7 seemed ok and i was able to do it u der the recomended ilvl. The jump from 7 to 8 seemed harder, i haven’t finished a bountiful 8. It seems to be a bad dps thi g for me, mobs seem to have so much more health. I got a few upgrades last night and combine that with some enchants and i will take another crack at it.

I haven’t done delves yet, but these companion NPCs sound an awful lot like mercenaries for Everquest.

Nah, it’s just old Brann Bronzebeard. And only in delves (or follower dungeons). EverQuest mercs were far more useful and versatile with a pile of classes and all roles available.

And they could be used in all content, iirc. They were also grindier to level up. They also had to be “paid”, they took a small sum of platinum an hour. Man would people go nuts if we had to pay Brann.
