I’m quitting classic again. Even tho nobody cares

Insert man yelling at cloud meme here:

First time I quit classic was because it turned into a Ghost town in Tbc.

Currently, the economy is in an unrecoverable state. RMT has infested classic so deeply at this point that the only reason I was sticking it out was the spirit of classic which is gone at this point. Anyone that denies it is kinda coping. Or maybe I’m the one coping. /shrug (still trying to figure out which is which)

I’ve always been anti GDKP but gave it a fair shot since it’s so meta. I enjoyed getting my epic mount in one run. I enjoyed stacking enormous amounts of gold to fund my alts with. Even enjoyed the 20k naxx payout my guildies got while I was on an alt in my speed clearing LC guild temporarily.

All of these things would feel good to most, but the big caveat to it is you have to pretend that the gold was from hard working players, not bots, not swipers, not gold sellers which is public knowledge it sadly is.

That’s where my immersion breaks. Paying almost 700g for a flask now, simply feels dirty. Going to raid and watching people spend literal thousands of dollars (irl equivalent I hear) worth of gold to get a few pieces feels just dirty.

I hope it doesn’t affect you guys like me for your enjoyment. But I secretly hope this raises a red flag deep down in you to stop turning the other cheek for a while like I did. It sounds dramatic, but I feel grimy.

I never condone gold buying. Take pride in never swiping, and have defriended people before for RmTing. But me turning a blind eye to it like blizzard has doesn’t make the problem go away, in fact it makes it worse. It surely didn’t help my enjoyment in the long run.

Hope you aren’t as sensitive as me and continue to have fun with the situation we have. Happy travels all  hope to see y’all again <3

I hope it gets better too.

I’ve been anti-GDKP since day one… and I am only going to break that cuz my current guild is doing it so we can buy consums for our venture into Naxx soon.

I was lucky to find a great guild re-progressing through classic. Its been a blast and I just stay the hell away from the AH as much as I can. I even went out and farmed 4 essence of air instead of paying the AH prices.

Good luck and I hope you find a game to waste ur time on that is more fun.

You have to be anti GDKP to the point where you don’t engage with the system. Simple as that.

The market is completely nuts right now, though. That is certainly true.

There is no way you can be anti-gkdp and raid during this F-up meta. You can’t farm to make enough gold fast enough to afford the current AH prices on Consums.

A dude in my guild spent 12k gold last night on Twilight Texts.

A single free action pot goes goes for 15g on Whitemane.

I hope when Blizz makes fresh/+, they have a server with no AH or gold trading. Just bartering for goods.

I know people like “playing the AH” (so do I) but there really is no point once RMT and bots take over the economy.

Fact.

RMT’ers and bots have taken over classic.

Fresh when?

It was funny that people were buy’n on ERA’s release. Funnier that they are now.

see you in retail.

Fresh is not going to help if blizzard doesn’t but forth the effort to stop the bots.

They should reset every single gold coin back to ZERO right meow

TLDR: RMT, bots

The rest of the post is whatever, typical quitting becuase of RMT which is fair, but this part is hilarious. Dramatic much?

Do you play CS:GO with people who use aimbots?

RMT’ing is the equivalent in a tab-targeting MMO. Perfect accuracy in FPS’s. Unlimited resources in an MMO. Both kill the game.

Buying gold won’t kill the raid bosses for you or win pvp games for you. An aim-bot wins the game for you. Two different things.

You can still be bad at the game and cheat. They are not mutually exclusive.

Actually, most player who do RMT or use aimbot are usually garbage.

Weird you really want to defend this.

I’m not defending anything. I’m contesting your claim that RMT is equal to an aimbot. Don’t put words or intentions in my mouth. People RMTing to buy gold and cash out in GDKP has zero impact on the way I play. I’m still raiding with my guild and doing my farms. People using aimbot in CS or something does impact how I play.

Unless you never use gold for any reason whatsoever, or farm for limited resources in the open world, it absolutely does directly impact you.

Gold inflation, availability of resources, and AH prices all skyrocket due to botting and RMT.

And the stuff I farm skyrockets with it, not changing how I play the game. I still do my farms, and the stuff I farm is worth more so I can still afford the things I need since the things I sell go for way more than before. It’s all the same to me.

Sounds like something drastic needs to be done in-game, to regulate this.

  1. Income-based tax system? 50% for anyone over 1000 gold?

  2. 1000 gold cap limit, account per server?

  3. Oh man, this might be the best one yet, give us a full loot PvP server.

Number 3 is the only one I’m serious about. Yes, people would play this. No, you wouldn’t have to. Enjoy your bots.
