This is a goofy take. There are few things more WoW than Raids. Classic is the way it is because it’s 20 years old and, if anything, raiding was more restrictive then than now because of the class balancing issues it had.
Overall, I would say with the exception of more complex fights because of technology, addons, better balance, and overall growth of the game, the raiding atmosphere is largely the same now as it was back then. Dont stand in bad stuff, stand in good stuff, do mechanics correctly, and do your role well enough to kill the boss.
A guild with a decent team that can manage these things will have no problem doing drunk heroic farms, alt runs, or just spending a few hours doing achievement runs for fun. These guilds exist, and they often have people in them who have been friends for years because of the culture built around having fun with raiding.

Squeezed the worst take of 2024 right in at the end!
Idk man you can’t trust anyone to have a brain anymore. I assume this guy is serious until they say otherwise.
I don’t assume, Tony Randall taught me better.
It was just a carbon copy of another thread.
Verbatim, replace M+ with Raid.
I love it when someone brings up Ultima Online and how great it was. Then i can agree with them and also talk about the good ole days of a single instanced world, naming animals hateful messages of people that PKd you, and bugs that actually did become features, like the pure black dye bug. That game was fun for a million different reasons. I remember, at one point, GM tinkering would allow you to put a bomb on a box that would kill 99% of players. I was literally Tim McVeigh in that game until they nerfed it. Go in a dungeon, set my box next to some other boxes, hide and wait. Or having a GM warrior/mage run around in death robes, run up and purposely fail to steal from someone. They attack you, now theyre fair game, free to kill without a murder count. The community in that game was also pretty amazing. No quests, so people made their own world. Was a truly unique experience for its time.
I never understood how Runecraft surpassed it, because Runecraft was basically a recreation of Ultima Online. More features or something? Never played it, but it always seemed exactly like UO.

WoW exists only for raids.
everything else is fluff.
Nooo you gonna ruin the fun…
Yep, that means… Delves will be next on the chopping block.
“I’m just going to say it. Delves is and at its core, fundamentally a mistake, and anti WoW”

But wow is a skin of the MMOs before it. Stole most ideas from games like eq.
You’re trolling but you’re actually correct. Raiding should not get such a lopsided dev focus compared to world content. M+ either.
Excellent UNO Reverse-style troll. 7/10.
“I like braindead mechanics because its easier to clear”
Now you are def trolling.
World content is trivial and braindead
Massive doesn’t imply the amount of people needed for certain things within the game. It implies a lot of people play.
No, it means a lot of people in the game at the same time.
Call of Duty, NBA 2k and Fortnite are MMOs based on your definition.
You spelled “Mythic +” wrong.
Ah yeah here’s the 1 billionth person to ask for no negatives in their video game. I can’t step it enough how much a video game would be mind-numbingly boring if the idea of defeat CAN’T happen. You NEED defeat, you need to learn that sometimes you have to give it your all, fail, learn some more and do it again. What we do not need is this half-baked ask to remove all difficult content and make it a joke because someone with 1 hour of free day a week comes along and wants the MMO experience baked into a single player world. It’s not what the game is and hasn’t been. You NEED to play with others, and if you can’t hack that then you’re playing the wrong game. Raiding is and has been a huge part of WoW ever since the beginning of time, asking to take it away or bake it into a delve mode is the same thing as me asking you to live your life in your sleep and stop waking up.
I realizrd this was a bait post as soon as tbey said raiding was required. 90% of my loot comes from doing M+ and hoping for good vaults to catalyst and farming crests. If you’re not doing mythic raiding then raids are irrelevant to gear. Which actually makes me sad because i hate M+
