I’m just going to say it. Raiding is and at its core, fundamentally a mistake, and anti WoW

Would that be the ones calling people names just because we like M+ and you don’t?

Competitive raiding killed wow. Mythic difficulty in general killed WoW. Heroic difficulty was the start but I think was still a good ending milestone.

Ultima Online was basically the MMORPG that created the concept of a living virtual world where what you did actually mattered.

MMORPGs nowadays you don’t matter at all you’re all champions and the achievements are also cloutless.

In UO everybody on a server knew who the baddest bads were, they knew who the best crafters were, they knew where the best player malls and vendors were, it was peak MMORPG.

Comparing it to modern WoW, WoW might as well be a looter shooter.

The sense of community on classic is because classic doesn’t have all the tools retail gives players to opt-out of being social and still do content.

WoW was meant to be a social game like the games that came before it.
We haven’t been playing the original idea since Vivendi got bought out in WOTLK.

QoL and trying to appease everybody has turned the game from an MMORPG to a proverbial ghost town “alone in a room full of people” game.

This sentiment is echod on the MMORPG reddit pretty regularly where people come back to try the game and feel they’re playing a solo player, because they are.

If you want the true social game to come back, the pre-made group finder, LFD, and LFR need to go.

Re-structure the game so that access to content is part of the reward for being able to play nice with others.

Naw WoWs gone. It’ll be a themepark lobby game milking sunk cost fallacy until it dies. Best to support other MMORPGs that actually are MMORPGs.

This would never happen. Retail is a 0 friction game. It’s basically made for people who still wear masks in 2025.

True and real.

I’ve done nothing but Delves and Open World since TWW came out and have been enjoying myself immensely. I’ll never go back to Raids and Dungeons.

I haven’t run groups since WOTLK.
Got tired of speed runs at the early stage, so I get as far as I can gear wise doing solo work, and if I decide I want the achievements, I go back later and get them.
But, I will leave with this:
If you don’t like how things are being run, find like minded people, they are out there, and do it the way you want.
Its a game

Loved UO, but it’s well above where I’m willing to start over again playing it

Yeah this is the most cooked take I’ve ever seen. I’m sorry I don’t want to have to scream “camp check” every time I want to kill a dungeon boss.

Actually now that I think about it, this stuff would be even more heavily gatekept than it was in EQ or UO that practically no average player would ever see any content.

this had to be a troll post is your main character a troll by any chance?

Then you haven’t raided with my guild

How? It’s not timed. You can go through a raid at whatever pace you want.

Get in a guild. If they suck, get in another guild :dracthyr_shrug:

Get in a guild. Find various discords like Wow Noob and Dungeon Dojo and Perky Pugs :dracthyr_shrug:

Weird, because it says World of Warcraft on the launcher. Maybe try reinstalling b.net.

Not my guild :dracthyr_shrug: And we get AotC every season. I don’t raid mythic and never will.

You really trying to act like sitting around town for your group to form is any different than being in a D2 chat lobby trying to find a game to join?

Instanced content turned this game and the entire MMO genre into glorified lobby games.

I implore you to go play one of the games that doesn’t have instanced content and see how absolutely desolate they are. No one wants to play games like that anymore, and it’s likely that they never really did, because WoW was praised, on launch, for its instanced content.

I played UO and SWG long before WoW became the mainstream format.

WoW is technically the better game but I enjoyed UO and SWG far more.

Again, tell me how waiting for your group to form so you can go to your instance is any different than waiting in a chat lobby and trying to join a game from a list of available games. This is a glorified lobby game… should be called Lobby+ instead of an MMO since we like to add +'s to things now.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and or opinions. Your feedback on raiding is appreciated.

Go figure low post count lvl 19 dracthyr…

You looking for a carry or what? Jokes aside, you are in late patch and now everyone is breezing through the raid.
