I’m all for RDF

Don’t get me wrong, I think RDF is a great addition to the game. I think wrath had it right and why it was the most popular expansion. It still had the classic mmo feel, but with a little more accessibility - balanced, compared to the hyper-accessible queue sandbox retail game.

But it wasn’t added until the ICC patch with the 3 new dungeons. We didn’t have it this early, so I don’t see why everyone’s complaining so much.

I wouldn’t mind them adding it in early at all, but I can definitely see them adding it in how it was with ICC release.

we didn’t have Dual Spec or BG queue from anywhere until Ulduar 3.1

we didn’t have Random BGs until 3.3.3.

We’re playing on the patch that RDF came with, and everything other version of classic wow released with all of that expansions content and systems minus the raids so why should Wrath be any different?

I still think the obvious solution for now is to at least have the dungeon finder in for older content, and possibly even normal Wrath dungeons. Lower level dungeons have been tough to find for quite some time now and its only getting worse. Even BC dungeons now (other than maybe ramps) are pretty spotty.

I play on Pagle which is by no means a dead server, i imagine its pretty miserable on the lower pop ones.

So what you’re saying is they should take those out and withhold them until their proper patch?

Because Blizzard has said they never plan to add it period, with the only update since then saying they don’t want to say “never”

If the best answer one has currently is a very rough “maybe” then it make sense to voice your opinion now and not stay silent until the time comes for its “proper” release

Because it’s clear that #nochanges is out the window, so why not make a change for the better instead of shooting themselves in the foot?

That’s a big false.

First of all, nearly all of the content was gated not just raids. Vanilla classic launched without dire mail, battle grounds, or even the pvp honor system. Tbc launched without dailies, quel’danas, and magister’s terrace. More over tbc classic also gated content that was not originally gated. Tbc classic phase 1, raids only included gruul’s lair, magtheridon’s lair, and karazhan, but in original tbc tempest keep, serpent shrine cavern, and the battle for mount hyjal were all available at launch.

Fair enough, I may have misremembered. But the fact remains, they have added things that were not even in Wrath and we are missing a key part of actual Wrath

If anti-rdf people are going to keep saying we cannot have RDF as it was not released yet, then nothing else that wasn’t released yet should be included either. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Pro tip RDF was not just used for the ICC dungeons.

It was available for all dungeons and worked just fine for all of them.

They said no on reveal, they said no many times after that, they said no on pre purchase, they even have it in the description of the product when you go to buy it saying “rdf not included”. How many more times do you need to hear no before you accept it?

Probably when they can actually provide a real reason RDF would be bad.

They did a few times some I can agree with like how its a daily log in requirement for a currency related to player power and nobody likes daily requirements to log in. Other not so much like the community one

It has already been explained multiple times and in different ways here why RDF is bad for the game. It’s just that retail minded players don’t see the bad. There is nothing else we can do to convince you, you just refuse to understand.

RDF did not remove the daily log requirement, that was actually another Cata change.

In wrath RDF you still could only get the good reward once per day.

Heroics are easy and most people I know skip right over normal dungeons and go straight into heroics once reaching level cap. Week two of Naxx and it’s already getting harder to find tanks and heals for heroics. The more people raid the less relevant heroics will become. It’s already happening. We need the dungeon finder.

Well no it’s that wrath players don’t see it that way.

RDF was a hugely popular feature when it was released back in the day(just like CRBG’s were) sorry but the player base back in the day liked cross realm group finders just as much.

And yes you can convince me, you just have to provide an actual good explanation for why RDF is bad without having to fall back on vague statements about “muh comunity” or “the world”

Players in original Wrath could be forgiven for seeing RDF as a good thing, we have the power of hindsight however.
