Hybrid Classes are utterly BROKEN

How it should be: Hybrid Classes like Druid, Paladin and such focus on damage while also having good healing, other classes focused on pure damage like Warriors will outdamage them but not have as much survivability

How it is for some reason: Hybrid Classes like Druid and Paladin, easily outclass and outdamage most DPS classes. Classes like Arms Warrios, Unholy DKs, etc that focus on pure damage with little surviability are HUGELY outclassed with damage and utility. All the while these hybrid classes wether it be Ret Paladin, Any Druid Spec, Shadow Priests will be able to heal themselves to full five to eight times before a fight ever ends, while also outdamaging you

In almost any context, but mainly in Arena. A ret with a healer on him is the closest thing we have to a immortal class in this game. And the off healing druids do to keep themselves or teammates alive is abusrd

I think the primary issue isn’t just healing, but resources + additional defensives.

Rets have bonkers damage, and amazing healing, but are kind of squishy once you get past bubble.

Enhance has to choose between healing or purging. You get 4x heals and you’re oom for quite some time (and it impacts your damage / utility).

Feral has probably the best offhealing, no mana costs, bear form, frenzied, etc. Plus they get MS next patch. Feral looking spicy, and there’s no real tradeoff to healing other than “you’re in cat form not bear form”.

You know mages heal a lot too, warriors intervene tons of damage on every go, have a flat 20% dmg reduction in d stance, can reflect spells… dks have anti magic zone and ams… ? Sounds like a get good issue

Only difference is a mages heals come mostly from a shield that is easily dispelled or spell stolen by other mages. Why would anyone play an arcane mage over a boomkin? Seriously…

I cannot usually kill an enhancement shaman that wants to live.
I cannot usually kill a shadow priest because they kill me first.
I prefer to avoid warlocks entirely, if possible.

If the match lasts more than 10 seconds, usually other DPS classes do similar damage to mine - usually.

just to tell you, classes like warrior and death knights are also considered as hybrids since you can play more than one role, only non hybrid classes are rogues, hunters, mages and warlocks :slight_smile:

Mage starts the game with 3 shields , arcane intellect , and any other team buffs. They shield before gates open , so they have shield off cd by time fight starts.

You need to purge them 4 times to start doing damage. Then they press shields and you need to purge 3 more times . You are sitting there pressing purge for 7 globals to counter 1 global. If you are a dps your oom, if your a healer your team is dieing.

Also, mage is often in setup comps getting cross cc then blasting your team from the start . You can’t really sit there and purge them for 7 globals.

For a comp to be able to deal with mage shields , they need at least 2 players with a purge . Otherwise it’s simply impossible to ever set up on a mage since you waste 4.5 seconds (aka most classes full stun duration) just getting through the shields.

The only class that can actually get through a mages shield is another mage . And that’s because the class is just busted .
