Go to zuljin, level 1 orcs with murlocs everywhere. You can boost a toon to 60 if the account for 60 dollars and the toon needs 30 hours played for 30 hours to remove that tag.
Even then, boosting a toon on an account just to advertise and all you do on it is advertise nothing else that’s still against tos.
I report all houkan with murlocs.

The rules don’t say people can’t be new players and have to put in ‘x’ amount of playtime. They just say they can’t make a new account for the sole purpose of advertising based on what you quoted.
Last time I looked they can get boosts cheaper than that just by buying the game since free boosts come with the expansion purchase and even if they didn’t want to do that, they can spend an hour or so a week and level up a character. It would be easy to do when they are ‘spamming’ trade in fact…
Huokan is only a thing because there’s high demand for said services.
And if it’s not Huokan it’ll be somebody else by this time next week.
Personally I just turn Trade Chat off and because I don’t buy boosts there’s nothing lost doing that.
Not like anyone really uses Trade Chat for what it’s for anymore anyway except for High Value (close to or over gold cap) items so why bother when the Auction House is so much more convenient.

But Huokan is definitely using alts specifically for advertising purposes, and while I personally can’t investigate, It wouldn’t take long at all to realize that these alts are only for advertisement purposes.
there is no rules that say they can’t use alts for advertising purposes - if what that guy quoted was correct they can’t make account just to advertise.
So they buy the game, boost a toon, then just use it soley for advertising.
If they boost or not to try to remove the murloc tag to make it “look” like they are using it for something else other than boosting, isn’t that a little odd?
Like, “Oh my other account got shut down let me make another, pay for a boost to level 50 (or was 48) play it long enough so if I get reported I could say ‘I am not using this account for just boosting. See I played an account.’”
Technicalities. You know.

So alts on an account are still on an account. If all a person ever used the account for was for advertising, even if they had 50 alts (cap) then guess what… the creation of the account is still only for boosting.

if I wanted to do this. I would be spamming trade on one account and playing the second account at the same time and then switching over accounts and doing the exact same. Blizzard rules just state they can’t make the account for that sole purpose and if you are playing it how can blizzard prove they have.
If they’re spamming it’s against the rules. Not sure about your angle here.

And here’s the thing, technically correct is still correct. If someone makes a second account, levels a toon on it, then advertises boosts all day with that account getting closed, they appeal it and say “I wasn’t just advertising, see this level 50 I have? I played it for 10 hours! I played something else!”
And if they are excessively spamming to the point of shut down, that’s a massive issue otherwise they wouldn’t have gotten shut down to start with.
well I am using your description of what they are doing - I think I moved my character off that server so I can’t really see what they are doing. Blizzard might not agree with your definition of spamming either.
Ignoring something is the definition of turning a blind eye.

eve is ignoring - they said blizzard isn’t turning a blind eye - there is no problem with what they said.
Then how about you make a ticket and ask them what the definition of spamming is? Hm? There is already an article that partially goes over it:
When participating in communication of any kind (chat, voice communication, group finder), you are responsible for how you express yourself. You may not use language that could be offensive or vulgar to others.
Hate speech and discriminatory language is inappropriate, as is any obscene or disruptive language. Threatening or harassing another player is always unacceptable, regardless of language used. Violating any of these expectations will result in account restrictions. More serious and repeated violations will result in greater restrictions.
Wouldn’t spamming a channel to the point of it being unusable be considered disruptive language? Or this section?
Behavior that intentionally detracts from others’ enjoyment (such as griefing, throwing, feeding, etc.) is unacceptable. We expect our players to treat each other with respect and promote an enjoyable environment. Acceptable behavior is determined by player reports and Blizzard’s decision, and violating these guidelines will result in account and gameplay restrictions.
So I’ll continue to report them and, as what was said to me on a different topic, “Let blizzard sort them out.”

i.imgur. com/dtIYddZ.jpg (remove the space after the .) this is fine… (this is where I would put a gif but can’t do that).
All these are houkan boosters. Area 52 sharded over into zul’jin for a brief period of time due to that DDOS attack a while back and well, let’s just say the bank was super busy.
Our trade chat is unusable.
How to get rid of Huokan spams in trade chat:
- Download and Install the addon GlobalIgnoreList
- Open the addon with command /gi gui
- Go to Spam Filters tab, add your own filters. Make sure to test the filter first to see if it’s working.
- Enjoy trade chat again!

How about, blizzard police the game like they are supposed to to where an external addon isn’t necessary in order to enjoy a core functionality of the game such as chat channels? I understand the point you’re making here, but it’s already been stated with the addon.
Addon is a bandage fix. Shouldn’t need an addon if things were policed and fixed properly to start with.
Besides, they get around the filters on my server so the addon doesn’t work. They just change up stuff, or remove a word, misspell houkan w/e it takes in order to bypass that global ignore list. or just make another account slap some game time on it, and bam bypasses the ignore filter.
