Hunters, you’ve got some explaining to do

Why did no one tell me levelling a hunter in wotlk was actually bliss?

No downtime, no threat from anything, just relaxing and pew pewing.

I’ve levelled hunters in various expansions post wotlk but damn man, something about levelling in wotlk on the hunter is different, it’s actual zen mode.

As far as I know hunter representation is fairly low, and I’m not sure why - they’re not S tier pve but they’re capable and they level easy.

TLDR, you’re gonna be raid logging again soon (if not already) get a new hunter alt and find a good Netflix show

Same experience as I am having leveling mine, it’s a wonderful experience.

Highly recommend doing some leveling in BG’s like AV if/when you are high enough. I hated playing BGs as melee but damn is it a blast as a hunter of any spec.

Our hunter does incredibly good DPS, and 100% profited from playing a underplayed class gear wise in raids.

Notes on the BG tip, I might just try that!

I think I’ve already decided to abandon my main alt resto shaman and main alt the hunter instead, I’m having that much fun with it.

Low competition for the gear as you said, simple playstyle and competitive damage.

Ez pick.

I’ve got 9 classes to 80 and hunter was probably my 3rd or 4th favorite to level. You either chill and kill slower or you pump and pull off your pet. Wasn’t a huge fan but it was alright. Boomkin mass pulls and ret paladin nonstop smashing things was more enjoyable imo.

I personally really love hunter at 80 though. Quite fun in raids and extremely fun/strong in dungeons. Pvp is alright but the skill floor feels absurdly high compared to other classes.

You needed to be told that Beast Mastery is the EZMODE way of leveling a Hunter?

That’s been true since November 2004.

PVP side wrath is the era of melee, or mages for ranged.

I main hunter in retail and have stalled on the hunter leveling more than once. once people learn to kill the owner not the pet, hunter can meet issues. classic I went melee heavy with rogue, dk and paladin.

my thing is also I liked retail hunter more. I liked pet-less lonewolf hunter setup of retail more in pvp. so another reason I haven’t rushed have a level capped one here.

I liked lock leveling more than hunter. Feels incredibly engaging and you can take on multiple mobs without needing to stop and drink.

Leveling a hunter in wotlk i was mana thirsty all the time compared to tbc or vanilla.

+1 for Ret for sure, especially when you get divine storm

But I think the best was fire mage tbh.

Living bomb 7-8-9 mobs on pull, Blast wave > instant FS> Dragons breath > instant FS > bombs explode.

ez

Hunter though while maybe not as efficient requires < 10% of my concentration which is just chill

Im leveling as a warlock affliction at the moment. At just level 35 I am a god with self healing through the roof. I can pull 5 mobs and barely go below 80 percent health while face tanking most of the mobs.

I’ve leveled 6 classes to 79.999, and the easiest questing were Smite Priest and Hunter, and fun, too.

My hunter doesn’t answer retail sockpuppets.
:axe:

they’re under played because marks is in the dumpster cause of lack of available arp.

We dont asnwer to wotlk classic sock puppets either.

Agree on this

Hunters and mana issues they get at level 80 10 man content is the really annoying. Especially when the boss mob or adds do not use mana and you cannot mana drain. Aspect switching blows

Survival trap weaving explosive shot without a trap launcher. Whichever dev thought that was great gameplay needs their head read.

BM in raids. Well you will more than likely be laughed at and told to switch to MM or survival.

I love wotlk hunter. Your shots feel chunky. You can 3 shot clothies in BGs once you get armor pen capped. In Arena the skillcap is massively high and that is fun.

I think cata is the ultimate, though. Still feels similar to wotlk playstyle, but with the focus mechanic. I also liked the first generation of the trap launcher.

In wrath? It’s always been that way for hunters. That’s why I always have one to farm for my healers, especially before dual spec.

yea resto is kind of bad for getting in gdkps rn
they always ask if i can go ele. seems to be a lot of healer alts in gdkps

I suppose because the majority of my WoW experience comes from wotlk and beyond where I just spam dungeons to level

Actually questing the hunter is a dream, not as noticeable when you’re just ranged dps in a dungeon ig

If you like Hunter levelling, wait until you try Hunter raiding. You’re so far away from the action and so comparatively mobile to other ranged DPS that you basically ignore 50% of mechanics out there, and the other 50% are fairly easy or not your problem (healer’s job).
