Hunters unplayable in PvP - Am I wasting my time?

tl;dr

It’s off gcd

This got me thinking… I wonder if they implemented spell batching and applied it to feign death in a way that it was not previously applied back in original vanilla?

Figured so.

Is the feign death giving you the short combat drop as it is supposed to?

It takes too long to drop combat. Causes issues because longer it takes to drop combat, more chance that you will be re-engaged in combat. PvE and PVP

The bottom line is hunters are a broken class, feign death/trap being just one of many issues that needs to be addressed. I only go with my gut when I’m hungry but I should have went with my gut when I was debating on whether not I should play hunter knowing it was buggy having played during the stress test. Unfortunately I got to level 37 and decided I had enough. I rerolled and of course now I’m making up for lost time. There is so much that is wrong with Classic and yet having a solid foundation they still can’t get it right at Blizzard HQ. This alone makes me question the future of not only Classic but the franchise as a whole.

You had the answers to the freaking test and yet you still failed. Seriously what gives…

I can understand that right now they are trying to stabilize after launch week and then getting ddos’d. But I expect a patch soon that fixes these glaring issues. I don’t understand how we can have a full beta and hunter be this broken still yet. Feign death/trap is such a core aspect of Vanilla/tbc hunter gameplay, I don’t understand how it is not already fixed.

Then yeah, they 100% broke it when they ported it over to the Legion client.

I was gonna say if it is dropping the combat like back in vanilla then a stacked macro setup would be better than what was posted here. Something tells me they never intended for the feign death to give you that very short combat drop so fast and now you’re being punished.

My honest to god question is why do like 1% of hunters claim that there is no problem with FDT?

That may be the case, and if so then it makes sense for them to fix it in the current game. However, the fact remains that classic is meant to be a museum of vanilla, so they should make it function how it did then.

That 1% probably has an ISP issue or even a hardware issue that actually benefits from spell batching. Hence it works out.

They have limited experience with it and honestly just don’t see an issue. I mean statistically if it works 10% of the time or less they can yahtzee and not know there is a problem ahaha

I don’t know, but one of the guys that said that in another thread was saying it never worked in vanilla… so I assume they just don’t know how to play their class or they don’t know how it should function because they didn’t play vanilla in the first place.

Just need to chill out and wait for a patch. You people are acting like classic would be perfect at launch. It wasn’t perfect back then, it isn’t perfect right now. If it’s a bug, it will eventually be fixed. That’s the way of things.

I wonder what your sentiment would be if Iceblock didn’t work and you got executed while in your little ice tomb…

BUT if you do get the quick drop, then setting it like a stacked burst macro should be better

#showtooltip Freezing Trap
/petpassive
/petfollow
/use [combat] !Feign Death
/use Freezing Trap

Would work better than the alternatives. Maybe try a couple of
/stopattack
/stopattack

in there to see if it helps drop combat faster cause I know in BFA that if you attack stance a target without even hitting them it still seems to put your character in combat even if you aren’t. Maybe it’s a delay you can fiddle with. I reference BFA because they ported Vanilla over to that client so you’re stuck with it’s stupid bugs.

True but consider who you’re talking about.

I’d be pissed too if they’re again trying to mold vanilla into their retail design and intentions.

Imagine frost nova had a 3-5 second delay before it rooted someone.

Duh, I would wait for a fix because I’m not an impatient whiner.

Imagine there was a delay and then after a few seconds if they attack you after you nova it breaks instantly and doesn’t work.

There was a 3 month long beta and an internal alpha test. There was a demo also. There were millions watching the beta test. There have been reports upon reports. We have to make our voices known and give feedback or it wont be fixed.

How many times have you read that they are looking at feedback and they respond accordingly. Why can you not discern the difference between demanding a working product and whining like a child?

I am dead serious when I say that I will stop playing my hunter right now if this is the best it is going to be.

Someone who wasn’t whining would just submit a bug report and leave it at that instead of coming to the forum to complain loudly about it, then attack other people telling them to chill out and be patient like any sensible person would.
