Hunter's Prey and Withering Fire Ninjapulling Feedback

As I flagged before patch there are some major issues with the targeting of secondary Black Arrows/Kill Shots coming from Withering Fire and Hunter’s Prey. They seem to be targeting a 180° degree cone in front of the hunter regardless of whether the enemy is in combat with the hunter or not, some examples (extra spaces added in links so I could post):

This is especially bad in dungeons with tightly packed mobs such as The Dawnbreaker, and makes Dark Ranger nearly unplayable in these dungeons, as you’re pretty much always at the risk of pulling something unless you carefully consider your positioning and facing at all times.

All that effort into DR re-work in 11.0.5…

At first PL was performing better for all content so instead of buffing DR, they will just nerf PL all around despite developer notes claims of “buffing it’s lackluster AoE”

And unless this bug is fixed, DR won’t be playable anyway in dungeons

Race to world first is over, and M+ content scales infinitely. Most players just want to feel more powerful as the season continues, NOT get nerfed after the first week of a buggy, long awaited hero talent rework, while we had 2 months of BM being completely unplayable in higher keys.

Hunters don’t even have much utility. So many classes offer lust and our “group/raid buff” of hunter’s mark is laughable. For those who don’t know, it’s a single target debuff that costs a GCD to apply. Hence why most raids would not bring more than one hunter, if any at all. Just another reason why if we don’t offer competitive DPS, we’re obsolete.

I’ve had this problem now with multiple dungeons and I’ve been trying to narrow down the issue because it has been very inconsistent with Black Arrow ninjapulling mobs. I’ve ran a number of keys last week and there are certain dungeons where it pulls extra packs nonstop, and some dungeons where I have had zero issues (even being in a key with another DR BM hunter).

Dawnbreaker: Seems to be the absolute worst I’ve experienced. Once you are down in the town for the mini bosses, black arrow constantly pulls mobs. I’ve tried being very close to our current mob pack, I’ve tried facing away from any extra packs, it still pulls.
most notably, I had Black arrow pull an extra mob pack THROUGH a large house by the dark sphere mini boss and pull an extra pack that was not only through the house, but also well outside of max range

SV/ GB/ Mists/ - have had no issues
SoB - Have had issues
Ara Kara - Many issues
CoT - No issues

I hope this gets fixed because while it isn’t necessarily a game breaking bug, it makes it almost impossible to play DR BM 10+ due to the possibility of bricking a key from ninjapulling extra mobs.

On Mists for me, after killing the last boss and need % we get the mobs that are to the right of the boss room, well everything is fine untill the wasps that fly very high above us and never gets aggro one of my shots decided to hit em.

Still exists. Dawnbreaker key wrecked.

I had it happen in grim batol as well.

Blizzard won’t even acknowledge this, its completely infuriating. Nor will they even take ownership of their ST nerf with the goal to improve “dismal AoiE” is only a 1% buff to DR…yet we have to play PL due to this issue or risk bricking keys! So…we end up with a AoE nerf!

Honestly hunters should just suck it up. DKs deal with this constantly with one of our most used CDs dragging a path of AoE pulling extra mobs. Just learn to work with it like everyone else has to with their abilities,

I’m still angry about Lone Wolf being nerfed…Then to to it off change my DoT “Black Arrow” to a kill shot! You are correct the pulls are ridiculous! PS A DoT is a lousy Kill Shot Blizz

Not really interested in playing DR until this is fixed. I can just not press Kill Shot in PL if I’m worried it’ll pull without too much DPS loss. Not really the case with DR.

So because you have things in your class/spec that are bugged or broken, everone else should just learn to “suck it up”. Yeah that makes sense.
