Hey guys I know this may be a played out topic but I am coming back to WoW after a break and I love to both PvP and PvE. I have just been noticing that not many hunters are picked up in RBGs. Is this something to be concerned about if I want to roll one? Or would I be better off sticking with shaman/druid?
Hunters have great potential in rbgs. Not sure how much trouble you are having getting into groups, but if you enjoy the class then its worth a try.

I say give it a try the important part is having fun .
I’ll give you a tip, if you’re invited to a RBG team don’t focus the boomkins. Your damage won’t be high enough and you’ll just be proccing us instant cast spells.
I personally like it when a hunter gets on me for that reason.

I usually wait until 2 other teamates are on a boomy b4 i go nuts . Im usually base sitting or focusing down heals mostly.
Why bring a hunter when you can literally bring any other DPS.

Problem with hunter is, there’s other dps classes that can fill every role, but better.
Just my opinion
The one role that hunters do absolutely best is base sitting. No one can touch them on that front, a very good 1v1 class with a pet, traps, flare, camo, etc.
But outside of that yeah they aren’t anything to write home about.
Because hunters are great . Just because higher end teams pick fotm like stacking 4 heals 3x firemages 2x rouges or boomies doesnt mean hunters can preform well
Not only are they good base sitters. But also the best at offcarts in ssm.

Best peels for FC on flag maps and good slow assist for rogue on panda map, too.
Biggest hurdle is convincing people to take you around the 2100ish mark because you run into clueless egotism in LFG if you don’t have btags. There are a lot of rerolls/alts around that think they know more than they do about balance.
Hunter representation being low has nothing to do with our actual viability but more to do with the abilities of most hunters coupled with the general biases people have.
Being super vocal helps.
