Hunters in my guild want to get ashkandi

It’s not BiS PvE for anybody. But it very well might be a 2h fury upgrade for someone still using OEB or TUF or something. Still, with the lower armor values and stackable armor debuffs in classic, the weapon damage on Askhandi might actually end up being better raid dps than BRE as well.

But ultimately what it is, is a rare weapon drop that is exceptional in PvP.

Hunters want it primarily for the stam and AP, and the weapon damage is a bonus.

Warriors want it primarily for the weapon damage, and the stam and AP are a bonus.

The weapon damage is the rare currency here, not the stats. You can get good stats like this on other items for hunters. It should instead go to the class that can utilize it to its full potential.

You should be dual-wield Fury, #1.

#2:

Ashkandi is a pvp weapon. Any serious guild will require their fury warriors dual wield for dps, leaving two handers relegated for PvP. BRE is bis arms PvP weapon, Ashkandi is a close second. Ashkandi, as an upgrade from say, OEB, will increase a warriors pvp experience more than a hunter upgrading to Ashkandi from lok’delar. However, Ashkandi is PvP BiS for hunter, while it is not PvP (or PvE) bis for warrior.

Thunderfury, the blessed blade of the windseeker is a bis for hunters

I accept your hypothesis. If you have no official Guild PVP team and are a Guild DKP system, spend your DKP. Not too hard of an answer here.

Personally, I don’t have any want for Ashkandi, and think it should go to PVP warriors first easily. Granted since we will be running MC for essentially forever because of the bindings, I’ll just patiently wait for a Brut or CHT when it’s no longer needed by the melee. Until then I’ll put +15 agi on Lok and/or Barb. (AFAIK, +25 Agi on 2H is P5, whereas +15 Agi on weapons is P3.)

Will I roll on one, when all the Wars that want one have it? Sure, it’s a neat looking blade. But for now, working on my parses and making sure I have the consumes prepped will be much more useful to me than any weapon that may find its way into my hands at this point.

Also interesting how no Hunters have brought up Assassination Blade, personally I have one ready to pair with a Brut/CHT when I eventually get one, since I tend to chase raw crit thanks to the short fight times in MC. Bone Slicing Hatchet is an interesting option though. If +15 wasn’t going to cost as much as it will, I’d opt to try out different set ups to see what works for me.

That said, depending on the fight times in BWL, there could be an argument for going towards consistent higher AP over pushing Crit Chance as high as possible.

Corehound is war tanks then rogues the dps warriors then hunters in my guild. I’m us lok just because weapons are that way and I haven’t been in ud strat to get the axes since early November since they weren’t dropping

#1: Agree for alliance, but we’re talking about horde, where DW and 2h is still pretty close. Once people are full BWL+ geared, DW will have the edge for single target. It also depends on the boss fight for horde. For anything cleave, 2h is difficult to beat.

#2: BRE > Ashkandi PvP is debatable. Keeping uptime on procs isn’t guaranteed, and probably a lot of warriors would prefer Ash for the consistent weapon damage. Watch all the R14 warriors stop using their BREs and start using their R14 2h’s this week. Ash is about on par with R14. Anyway BRE and Ash are both insane good, and if you have one, you’re probably going to pass on the other, for another warrior to pick up. Not enough of them drop for every warrior to get both. Your PvP BiS is what you can get when it (rarely) drops, and come Phase 3, BRE and Ash are probably the two best options from raids.

lol.
There are more warriors and mages than druids, paladins, shamans and hunters combined. The guild will be fine if they ever rage about a weapon nobody in fact needs.
I only see this as a pvp weapon and nothing else, because thats what it is.
Made the run, warr didnt get any loot? give it to him.
hunter didnt get any loot? give it to him.
ret didnt get any loot? give it to him.
They all got loot? oh well i would give it to warrior or ask them and ret /roll
None want? meh let hunter play with it.

Uh it is a large DPS increase for hunter.
2h warrior is a large DPS decrease for warriors. Basically 1h fury is carrying them.
And 1h vs 2h is pretty close? its over 20% difference bro. As horde.

Why do you think that is?

Because a certain developer made sure that warriors were best tanks and best dps of course.

However, you do not need 20 warriors for a raid, it can be done with a mixture so if people get to greedy, there are plenty of other warriors out there. Supply (Very High) / Demand (low).

There, fixed.

Anyhow, if anyone thinks not giving Ash to warriors first isn’t going to lead to a warrior shortage in their guild is delusional.

This thread continues to entertain.

Thats your opinion at best. But you are proving the hypothesis of

Warriors…largest egos in the game.

For good reason

Its a Game, if you have a large ego about your self-importance, LOL.

Bonereavers edge is better anyway.

Pick one and stick with it

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Sorry but no ret paladins belong in the trash. And warriors get prio on many 1 handed weapons plenty of other 2 handed weapons, accuria, qsr, dft. I rest my case. Warriors can chill on being loot hos.

One is in reference to the developer.
One is in reference to you.

NOT mutually exclusive.
