So they put up the December trading post set and it is so sad looking compared to everything else. Do we really need a 90th shoulder option that is tiny with feathers or small spikes/claws? The priest set looks awesome, a little BFAish, but awesome. Mage set is a throwback look. The rogue and warrior sets are sad as well, and that druid helm is goofy as heck.

the “problem” with hunter armor sets is that it’s going to either be a 1) trophy set 2) “ranger” focused set (nighthold) or 3) animalistic / more primal in nature
it’s almost always 1 , sometimes 3, but very rarely 2. if you think any set that’s not 2 (not you specifically, anyone reading this) then perhaps you need to change your expectations. that’d be like getting mad at a shaman set for having a wolf motif

My post was that it was disappointing, yes. You decided to make it about how we should expect a certain style just because; which doesn’t change the fact that the set is disappointing. You can have a naturalistic set that doesn’t just look like every other set we already have, it is possible. You response was akin to saying “It has always been turd, so why would you be disappointed in getting another turd.” Maybe because I am tired of turds?
I agree. It isn’t horrible but it’s also not great. I won’t buy it. I can’t see it looking good on anything but the Tauren and maybe the Troll characters.
I’m not opposed to feathers or even tribal gear, it just looks really lack luster and uninspired. Like the art team just wasn’t feeling it that day or was running out of time.

Like, I just don’t understand the point of doing more of the same style at this point. I get a theme but at least elaborate a little, right now it just looks like they are out of ideas for hunters and not even trying.
I don’t recall the majority of our sets being bird themed, I think it was 9.2 as the most recent? many of our abilities are bird themed, so it’s not exactly out of nowhere.
You may want to take a look at your shoulders from this expansion then. Also, what does that again, have to do with what I said. “It looks disappointing.” “Yes, but it always looks disappointing!” “But it doesn’t have to” “but birds!” Seriously man, step away from the conversation you aren’t adding anything to it. If you like the look, that is fine, say you like the look and move on. Blizzard doesn’t need you throwing out one hundred excuses for them.
That’s not what I’m saying, I’m just saying from nearly 20 years of hunter sets being trophies or bird themed, it’s a bit odd to get disappointed at a random, trader post set being bird themed. sorry people disagreeing with you sets you off so much
You actually seem set off given your propensity to white knight for Blizzard on everyone that disagrees with anything they do. Like I said, you have added nothing to the conversation so I will be ignoring you after this but once again saying “well it has always been bad, why are you worried it is still bad” is a pretty dumb argument.

Like what was said, it would probably look good on a tauren or troll, but I have neither of those. But in general yeah, hunter sets don’t look good IMO. This tier set, without the shoulders, helm, and feet looks fine. But yeah, I knew I was gonna be disappointed and here I am, still disappointed.
TBF I think I mostly like the mage set the most, and I like the weapons more than the sets.

I think the problem is, it is more of the same. The Hunter set is just boring to look at. The Priest set is cool because of the BFA call back, plus eldritch horrors are always neat. Pally set looks Scarlet-esque. The Rogue set is very meh. Death Knight and Demon Hunter are awesome. Druid shoulders are sweet but the helm is gross looking. Warlock shoulders are cool, helm is disappointing. The samurai monk them is sweet. Warrior set is super meh as well. Shaman and mage are awesome. The Evoker is weird, looks almost like an old shaman shoulder. But chicken helm and feather shoulders… always with the feathers. It is played out, just do something, anything new. And why are they always so small…
I’ve just started ignoring them. It seems every post is just desperately finding a way to disagree with previous commenters. You could probably post a list of your favorite foods, which is entirely subjective, and they would respond telling you why you’re wrong. Just contrary by nature, I think.

Agreed. To be fair, I think most of the armor sets for trading post are underwhelming, but there are a few standouts. The priest set is amazing though. It’s not for everyone, but it’s absolutely unique. The Hunter set is the same crap and underwhelming to boot.
My biggest problem is the weapons. Most of them are fairly unique, but the Hunter weapons are just recolors with some minor visual adjustments.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the lock set, it looks cool. I get what they were going for with the priest one and they delivered with that look, but it’s a look I’ll never use. I do love that monk pink staff.
What are they recolors of? 
The Spear and Gun are both brand new models, so if they already exist feel free to correct me
