What is the strategy when you spend all your focus but then melee are sitting you and you can get distance to stand still and cast steady shot?
Disengage works to get distance but standing still to cast Steady shot just isnt happening. Are we stacking a ton of haste or something to help with that?

Aspect of the Fox will help a lot down the road but currently I haven’t had issues kiting 2-3 melee alone with my cool downs. I tend to save Rapid Fire for moments like these due to Rapid Recuperation and I currently have Rapid Killing talented as well, once you get one kill it’s over for the rest.
I tend to try and sit around 50 focus when I know melee might try to pull something on me as well, if you don’t have the advantage look for a reset

I run BM and use the talent Fervor “Fervor a very straightforward DPS cooldown, which provides you and your pet with 50 focus on demand.”
if I use Fervor then Bestial wrath that cuts focus use in half ( I think it’s half) and i can spam about 8 or so arcane shots, almost nothing can survive that with a kill command on top.
You have snares, root, traps, your pet can help with keeping enemies at bay. Dont do PvE rotation and expect your foes to stand still in PvP.
Watch some “WoW catacylsm Survival Hunter PvP” videos. It ll give you an idea what options you have
I think you missed the part where focus management was the issue. Everyone and their grandmother knows what’s in a hunter’s toolkit.
Unless you’re BM, your pet is an annoyance at best.

Currently doesnt work on cata classic only on pservers.
Fox is 100% the reason why hunters are focus starved atm vs anything, fox is pretty huge.

I use my pet (usually a spider or monkey or something) to peel for me, use Master’s Call to remove any snare and then conc shot and start kiting them from range again.
I agree though certain melees like rogues especially are a bit tough right now. Other melees (warrior, death knight, enha) though you can easily kite to death.
