Hunter pets

Yes, but this is the druids complaint.

He wants the 50 focus ability to deal as much damage as claw. And he wants claw to heal the enemy.

Hunter pets aren’t a class - they’re an additive to a class controlled almost entirely by AI allowing the hunter to not actively play the game, but instead have the game played for them.

I think that’s what you’re missing in the gap of logic. The pet isn’t a class.

I don’t think you understand druid healing or the mana cost. I know at higher levels it will be much better, right now, not so much! I am commenting, not assuming the average fight in group pvp in side WSG. Not the worst case scenario.

Then you dont understand what a BM hunter is…

But the pet is “OP”, so tell me what class I should compare a Hunter to that fits your arbitrary opinion of what’s balanced?

The hunter is reasonably balanced right now. Scorpid was broken. Some of kill command interactions were broken. Both got nuked with the nerf bomb. Scorpid is now one of the worst pets and kill command only works on claw and bite.

Hunters have been nerfed into oblivion for the lvl 40+ range with what has happened. They are strong now, but will be very weak next phase unless they do some buffs.

I understand that Hunter is a class. Beast mastery is a talent specialization within that class. Tame Beast is a skill learned at 10 via quest.

None of those things make your pet into a class, nor should it entitle your pet to be equally as powerful - or more powerful - than entire players.

The reality is Hunter was a class made with a deliberately accessible skill floor with an unbelievably low skill ceiling to still achieve ridiculous outcomes in dps. Then when the DPS fell behind, Tranq Shot became mandatory in every raid so that you had to bring Hunters.

Lol, you mean once they have access to the full BM tree? with Wrath + Frenzy + personal dps scaling nodes?

Pets, and AI of any form/variation should not be the entire driving force of a class. Sorry, not sorry. Ever. If you feel it is - you are not the type of person who should be trying to initiate balance based conversations/changes. Anything not done as a personal skill expression should not be a dominant force in a competitive environment. “muh pet pew pew” is not a skill expression.

Wow you know literally nothing lol.

So if your a pally and you spec into the holy tree that means that your healing shouldnt be the focus of your class…

Holy is currently Prot centric, due to Consecrate.

Thanks for playing.

Lawl cant argue with stupid I guess

Have a good day

You didn’t answer my question, opinion discarded.

uh no. we aren’t even the top parsing dps anymore, we are the bottom of the upper tier, or upper mid, however you prefer to look at it.

Our pets are strong because we put all of our talent points into making them strong. This is by design. Hunters are fine currently. They do not need any more nerfs, they’ve already been hit with at least four separate downward adjusting nerf patches. Which is approximately three more than any other class.

Hunters are no longer anything special. If they want to take those 300 pet crits and fold them into MS so those hit for 500+, I’m certainly here for a change like that, but I don’t think people are serious about wanting the hunter to do the pets portion of the damage. What they are really asking for is for hunters to not do any damage at all.

This is a very good point. The Slower Attack speed pets definitely have more burst and are probably doing much better in this ‘Low-Health, High Damage’ meta we have going right now.

Hunter go pew pew, nubs die, “why do Hunters have guns?!”.

Give me the Grappler Hunter spec with wrestling moves and I will switch.

I would try a melee hunter spec if everyone didn’t laugh at me when I put points into Survival.

280 Mana for regrowth rank 3.

Healing touch rank 4 is 185, but takes longer to cast

Hibernate is 90

Rank 1 entangling root is 50

Rank 4 rejuv 105 mana

So thats about 700 mana used depending on use of regrowth or healing touch and then cat form

Guess what. You should have over 1k mana. And you can use a healing potion or mana potion. In this instance healing potion is likely the best option and cheapest option cost wise. So we can remove the regrowth or healing touch cost on mana. And starsurge costs 1% of your base mana so esseitiallly you can always use it. And if you dont have that you will be in melee range and cat form hitting the hunter.

Last time I checked, I control my pet, I tell it who/what to attack. I choose to specialize in improving my pet.

that improves the abilities of the hunters pet, which I control.

Bring it up with the devs who wholeheartedly disagree with your opinion so much so that they made an entire talent tree which does the exact opposite of what you claim should never be happening.

Imagine arguing that speccing shadow shouldn’t increase your shadow abilities, or going resto shouldn’t increase your healing lol…

I can’t take this guy seriously.

Well he IS semi-casual…

I feel like this comes up in any game with a pet/turret based class or character.
