Hunter pets missing after absence

I am trying to return to WoW and after my initial log in, I noticed that my Hunter pets are missing from my Stable. Is this due to a long absence or a bug ? I believe the last time I played and bought an expansion was the Lich King. I worked rather hard for some of those pets as they were named mobs and farmed quite a bit so difficult to catch. Any help or info would be appreciated

What pets are you supposed to have?

You have a few Hunters. The level 30 Orc Huntter on Malfurion looks to have two pets accompanying the character and two in the stable (The Kurken and an Ironhide Devilsaur). I believe both of those require Beast Master, I might be wrong, but try switching to that spec to address it.

You have a level 33 Tauren Hunter also on Malfurion, which hasn’t been logged into yet. You only have two pets on that character, one in the stable, one with the character.

Your level 57 Orc Hunter on Borean Tundra also have two pets, one in the stable one with the character.

I should note, that if a character had deleted/abandoned any of the pets I should be able to see that. I only see the numbers I listed. I don’t see any pets listed as “deleted/abandoned”.

Most of that seemed like good advice, Nok. I can restore it if you want.

Beaten by the blue.
I’ll just add that the exotic pets ability which allows you to use the Kurken and Devilsaur, requires you to be level 39 now.

Ok. Just didn’t want to get repetitive.

I haven’t played Beast Master in a couple of expansions. I wonder if the pets are just locked if under 39 or they don’t show up until you reach that level.

The advice on the stable is good too. Quoting that:

The stable has been expanded to hold more pets. Make sure you page through the blank stable pages in case the pets are further down in the stable.

They show up in the stable but can’t be moved to one of the pet 1-5 slots.

The 30 Orc Hunter on Malfurion was my main character. I checked Borean Tundra and didn’t see the 57 Hunter. Having a 57 is odd to me because I think I quit when the level cap was still 30 but it’s been so long that I can’t remember.

But the pets I am missing are rare ones. I can’t remember their names in game but there was a few named cats I think a lion and a panther, dragonhawk, a bird or two, wolves and boars. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. The common pets I’m not worried about but the named mobs were long, tedious camps. Is it possible that those creatures were removed from the game and that is why they are gone ?

I mean at this point if I can’t get them back it doesn’t seem like anything can be done. And yes the two in the Stable need for me to meet the level requirement for Beast Master for me to be able to use them. That is a new mechanic for me so looks like a learning process right now and trying to remember how to play.

I’m pretty sure my gear and build are out of date also.

Your gear being outa date depends on when it was last played if it was expacs ago rember we went thru a massive overhaul in shadowlands so stats wouldve changed.

Yah I’m wearing Windrunner’s set with Bloodfury and Stygian Bladebreaker and a Widebarrel Flintlock

icy-veins.com has good class/spec guides - stats, rotations, talents, etc.
wowhead.com for general info.
wow.gamepedia.com is kind of the goto wikki these days, but isn’t used all that much compared to wowhead and icy-veins.

The 57 would have been pre-level squish, something that happened at the beginning of the Shadowlands expansion. 57 would have converted into the mid-20’s.

It has been awhile. The original game had a level 60 level cap. Burning Crusade allowed players to go to 70. Wrath of the Lich King was 80.

Not really. We generally wouldn’t remove a pet. In the off chance that there was an issue with a pet it might be changed, but it extremely unlikely that it would just be removed. I can only recall one incident back in Wrath of the Lich King and in that situation, the pet itself just reverted to a standard wolf, instead of the Worgen form that some Hunters could get it as.

Sorry, Burguul. We have no way to verify that the characters ever had those pets. As I mentioned, if they were deleted/abandoned I would see them in your list, and all I see are the 6 you currently own.

The good news is there are a lot more pets out there and the ones you had aren’t nearly as difficult to capture as they may have once been. Good luck!

You can also fly at level 30 now which makes pet gathering a lot easier.
wow-petopia.com is still the goto web site for hunter pets.
