Hunter pets CONSTANTLY get in the way

I absolutely love my hunter more than any other character I have. But I am just getting so dang annoyed with pet behavior… I try and loot or skin something and my pet is always in the way!! Standing on what I need to loot/skin. I end up clicking on my pet over and over because he is in the way I don’t understand why they act this way. Why hasn’t this been fixed? My pets need to be standing next to me not on top of what I’m looting. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, they are in the way a lot. and the glyph to shrink them doesn’t help a bit.

I would love it if my hunter pet could be about the same size as the companion pets

Just turn a little and maybe take a step back or forward and they move.

You can make them move with their “move to” pet command, you can send it up a hill or something until you’re done looting and skinning. Or you could always go MM and choose lone wolf.

When I’m lava fishing, my magmammoth likes to stand in the fire. That doesn’t feel like it should be a problem. Turns out it is.

I hate when they do this. It’s like, could you just not, please?

You can also use the action feature, mine is keybound to F like it is in GW2, you don’t have to target anything, just face the direction of it and press your keybind. Birds are some of the worst with their flapping wings, especially the spirit beast one from Firelands, that thing just vomits visual effects all over the place.

i don’t get why my pet is dumb enough to stand in the fire or lava and attack a mob all the time. I’m always yelling at it.

I hate when the size of creatures seems to creep up When I trained Ringo he was about the size of a large dog. Neither he, nor this apparently giant Steward, who was also much smaller during an earlier quest, should be this size.

So you have a cat right?

I have had this issue, had to reposition to skin sometimes. It’s even worse when you have an ally and a pet (like the ones in Nazjatar), they seem to get in my way more than my pet does lol.

Escort mission + training a covenant member daily with pets out meant I had a party going on in SL. was a hoot

Yea, it kinda sucks.

I got the glyph to reduce my pet’s size, but it’s still too big. I wish we could just click through them for loot and skinning and whatnot.

Well, my pets go to obedience school before they can accompany me, so I don’t have that problem. :sunglasses:

The only hunter spec I can tolerate is MM due to how dumb hunter pets have always been.

You can. Bind the “interact with target” option in controls, then all you have to do is face whatever you want to loot and press that key, it’ll loot it without you having to target it. You can skin using that key as well, no targeting necessary.

There are frogs in SW tanaan jungle that are tenacity pets and are, quite literally, the size of a battle pet.

I got yelled at once for using them and “Not taking a pet” as beast mastery.

Several nights ago I startled my roommate by suddenly screaming “OM*G GET OFF MY KILL”. Does that answer your question?

The normal snake model, such as the Death Adder/Imperial Python from Timeless Isle, can still occasionally get in the way, but have a way lower profile. Can be used by all specs.
