Hunter pets CONSTANTLY get in the way

was running firelands yesterday and i turn around to find my dumb pet had ran thru the lava and died. i didn’t run thru the lava. he was not running at my side. the clodhopper just decided to run thru it. and died. in an instance no one has died on for many xpacs…

“Where is that rez pet spell??! Argh!”

Also mini pets are now running ON our heels, could we not?

I’ve used a Mana Wyrm pet for a few years now, due to it being small and up off the ground, so it’s more easily seen. They also have a strong Blood Elf connection.

It was the twin pets of WoD that pushed me in that direction, a good example of more not being better, only more trouble.

How do you think melee feel when hunters use the biggest pets of all.

Go to options.

Set a keybind for the Interaction Key.

Turn the Interaction Key on.

There you go.

the pet AI isnt very intelligent, and they use the same one for NPCs that follow you. which makes it twice as annoying when playing as BM hunter with the twin pets and someone like Talia following you around.

i’ve never really found it to be an issue… after about 20 minutes of play, i figured out how the pet moves, and compensate for its actions.

if you can’t figure it out, make the pet get the loot for you. :stuck_out_tongue:

How long will it be when they upgrade the Fetch command to skin your kills too?

I never really had that issue either :man_shrugging:

Theyre constantly on whatever is I need to click lol.
I keybound the ‘interact with target’ and that helps quite a bit.

Its funny when they decide that sitting beside you is worse than being inside of you.

I get cata eng to 70 so I can use the loot-a-rang on every character I plan on playing much. Trying to find the bodies to loot is a pain sometimes. The Rang finds them for me.
Interact with Target keybound seems to fix the rest of the problem

You can get a spell call Fetch…works great…and use your move button in your hunter pet tab…https://www.wowhead.com/item=136781/pet-training-manual-fetch

Just use a loot command. Your pet can fetch.

Get Mothers Skinning knife allows skinning mobs up too 40 feet away …https://www.wowhead.com/item=130102/mothers-skinning-knife

Just shakes my head all you folks been in game for a bit of time don’t know the tricks of the game …like hunters you can move your hunter pets to a spot and they don’t move while you skin…then there is Mothers skinning knife …skin mobs up too 40 feet away…then there is Fetch for Hunters pet…put spell fetch on your action bar …click it hunter pets gets the items off the mobs you have killed…super simple…open your eyes folks…and get a bit smarter…

Yes I was thinking the exact same!

My favorite pet behavior is when they literally just disappear.

I know they were just here for that trash pack but now you don’t have a pet. oh you can’t resurrect it it’s not dead… like great where the f did it go…

I get that. I just don’t want to click that button to move my animals every time I try and loot or skin. I do that every time I fish. It’s just an annoying extra step while skinning.
