I been away from wow for a few months and wanted opinions on either this warlock or a Hunter both are about the same level. I don’t want to play both, I just want to focus on one. Thanks
I vote hunter!
Hunter would be my choice. Fun and easy to play.
Warlock by far
Demo lock is top dps atm…
Also Lock has more comps in PVP.
MM is the second in DPS
All 3 specs are viable…
I’d go with Lock, plus Lock is usually in a better state.
Hunter if you want to melee in dungeons, Warlock for everything else.
I’m about to make a warlock right now, just not sure what race to pick
Both are amazing choices right now though, no matter what content you decide to play.
Roll warlock
Depends on how lazy you are and if you want Easy/Thought-Free Mode, or a challenge.
- Lock hands down for easy, simple play.
- BM Hunter with all passive talents and pet on Auto-Assist mode with all its talents switched ON, is easy and very forgiving if you make a mistake.
- BM Hunter with ACTIVE talents and pet on Manual Mode so you control it like the second weapon it is, is by far the most fun and challenging spec I’ve played. I keep trying other classes/specs, but find them mind-numbingly boring and go back to BM Hunter. However, it takes a lot of patience and even more fail to master it. But once you’re there, it’s a blast! It’s also fully-mobile.
I actually have both.
Warlock is my main. Hunter is my alt, but it may become my main.
Some quick thoughts on where I think each class stands:
Warlock offers three huge ranged archetypes.
Summoner = Demo.
Cannon = Destro
DoT & spread pressure = Aff
If you want to cast, Warlock offers in my opinion a taste of everything.
Hunter however offers a unique position, the melee ranged. By this I mean a ranged spec that feels like it’s melee because of how mobile you are. BM is 100% mobile, MM has some hard-casts but still feels good to play on the move.
Hunter is oddly satisfying. Trick Shots + Double Tap + Rapid Fire / Aimed Shot is the most satisfying AOE i’ve had in a good while. You hit the ground running. It is just satisfying.
You’re insane if you’re saying to go Warlock over Hunter for an easier time. Especially to then follow that up with BM being a challenging spec.
It’s your opinion on if you like it - but there is no depth to it beyond stacking frenzy. Even if you take what few active talents offered.
I vote lock, even when your spec is in the gutter (like affliction is now, for raids at least), you’re still welcomed with open arms for summoning and candy
Having said that, if you want an easier time of things in general, probably go hunter.
I’ve recently changed my main to be a demonology warlock and it is the most fun I’ve had in wow in a long time.
Great dps, a body guard, and self healing.
How can you go wrong?
How about both? I play both a BM hunter and demo warlock. They are my most played characters, when I have time to play that is.
Your choice. I make it simple. The lock has fewer resource issues than the hunter at moment. Hunter has an easier time soloing than locks. Hunter 4 piece is killing everything. Lock 4 piece from what I read is two shooting everything. There you go.
I need to get that 4 piece tier for my demo lock. It will be like that scene in Matrix when Neo is fighting Smith clones in the park and he calls for more clones to rush into the fight.
MORE demons!
Excellent choice for the lock. I say one of the fun race to play a Lock beside orc/forsaken.
I have both, and love both.
Warlock is flashier (I love casters). Hunter gets cooler pets (finding new pets is a lot of fun).
Honestly, choose one and play it for a bit, then roll the other one. It doesn’t have to be an either/or.
Yeah my thoughts too. That might be one of the most ridiculous posts I’ve ever seen regarding classes here.
Both classes are in really amazing places right now.
I’d say pick based on what class fantasy you like more. They’re both good.
Avoid BM and Affliction for this patch. Neither are performing like their counterparts.
Demons are cooler than animals.
