I’m pretty sure hunters are just going to get a rune that adds AP scaling to arcane shot and serpent sting. It’s low hanging fruit.
Lone wolf should-
Increase ALL damage by 15%.
Increase melee damage by an additional 10%
Increase chance to hit and crit with melee abilities by 1%
We dont need the petless option forcing melee weaving.
If anything it should be the option that removes the weave.
as a melee hunter, i want something that doesnt force me into BM.
And next phase that will be SV spec.
3% hit, 20% more crit on raptor strike, 3% crit, 15% more agility (with lion is massive) The problem with sv for melee hunter right now is you cant really get the hit talents yet. And melee needs hit more than ranged.
Still doesnt change the fact our pet is 30-40% of our damage and BM rune is needed on all single target fights
thats what I meant by BM. But yeah, BM tree is also really good and competitive with the SV tree.
Its that much of your damage because of low levels.
And you are missing how much raw crit and hit you get for melee in sv tree.
I think that linking combat trap usage to lone wolf flies in the face of flanking strike’s design. Lone wolf hals always been the choice for the shooty marksman boys so I think that it should perhaps more directly influence or encourage the “ranger” play style.
I would personally suggest:
A) stings and shots scale with ranged attacks power
B) damage/crit chance/attack speed scale with distance from the target
C) additional effects applied to your shots and stings similar to the interaction within chimera shot
One or multiple of these would make a rather no fun ability that removes your companion much more interesting than the dull %damage boost state that it’s in.
What about increasing the damage drastically, but for only melee attacks?
100% I hope this gets fixed. I don’t need it to be the best build for hunter just viable. If warlocks and rogues can tank, then hunters should be able to go without a pet haha
Here is my proposition: ‘While you have no pet active, you deal 15% increased damage with all attacks and an additional 50% with Aimed Shot’.
Two birds with one stone.
Alright, it’s up to 30%. Still not enough, but at least they know it’s not any good at the moment.
Actually, I think I know how to fix it- Combine it with Cleave, make it a Hands rune and reduce damage taken by 15%.
