If this rune doesnt have a strongly competing ranged rune option the difference between melee weaving and not melee weaving will be an almost 40% difference in dps. It will effectively force the hunters that dont want to melee weave to do so, or be so far behind in dps that they will have issues keeping their spot. It will essentially force the melee weave option because of how massive a gap it will be.
As a Melee Hunter, anything to spice up our rotation is fine with me. Although, for ranged, I can definitely see why people would hate it. Hopefully they can offer a ranged rune that can outmatch melee weaving.
Don’t look at logs or prase. Just play with ease. Melee weaver and power shift are too intense. Btw, if you go fs rs and rs resets cd of fs and rs again. What you do? Staying melee for the free spell cast again? It will completely break your rotation. So just take it easy
I, for one, welcome the ability to spec into Survival and just go full melee for a change.

Fs and rs are instant casts, as you melee weave you spam a macro that uses both, and once they are both showing on cd, you move back to ranged, or if you had a lot of resets, you wait for another melee auto attack if it is within .5 seconds. (Otherwise moving back to range for a ranged cycle is better) it makes a very hectic rotstion based on a constantly changing ability priority system.
But the whole idea is you going melee for that 2.5second swing time on your auto shoot. That includes running in and out 8yr dead zone. Just a lot to taking into consideration in 2.5 sec

And thats the issue. This takes the complexity of melee weave rotation to 11/10 for hectic chaos. Melee weaving will definatly be harder to do without the 20% move speed world buff, and this just makes it even harder because you will theoretically melee weave twice as much.

melee weaving is INDEED hard. It requires extremely precise movement and timing or your DPS tanks into the toilet. Any movement of the boss, AT ALL, can throw everything off and, again, your dps tanks into the toilet.
I am unaware of ANY OTHER CLASS OR SPEC that requires anywhere near the same degree of precise movement and timing in order to optimize their DPS and are punished so severely for any mistake. Perhaps you can enlighten us?
Melee weaving wigs me out because it’s such an involved rotation all to deal middle of the pack to decent damage, meanwhile Grug and Longsword the warriors stand still hitting 2 buttons and deal 50%-100% more damage than I do.

I’m pretty sure we are getting more runes than what was shown. Those are just teasers, they even shown 3 Shaman runes.
Those two runes also do not share a slot, one is for your belt the other is for your boots. The trap one will likely be more of a PvP rune, hope we get some solid ranged runes too but I’m excited over what was shown off so far for Hunter.
you don’t even know what all of the runes available are going to be, you’ve seen 2 runes i guarantee you there are others (what’s the point in having rune slots if there is only one rune available for it?) you don’t know what your rotation is going to be until you know what runes you’ll be using and possibly which non-rune abilities are available in the dungeon books.

As was mentioned, trap launcher and melee spec don’t compete for the same rune slot. If melee spec ends up being the best and breaks aimed shot that’s good with me, the rotation will be spastic but I don’t really like aimed shot because it feels bad to use with fast weapons anyway.
That’s not true, it’s Shaman, they are more toxic about other classes too wanting to drag them down. It’s hard taking them seriously same as many of the Hunters that think they did not need to be nerfed in a few ways.
Hunters are a close second though, I play one and agree with all of the nerfs but I do think they needed to buff some of the dead runes to be comparable to the better options (not stronger), just for more variety. Needing to use 3 passive runes when I was BM and not melee weaving was lame compared to all the other classes getting buttons. Was more fun when I swapped to MM and at least had Chimera Shot.
Idk, I think a good rogue should win every 1v1 versus hunters with CD’s up with all their new tools. Unless damage P2 is just crazy and people get killed in a few hits. I guess it would come down to whether the Hunter can get the traps off in time before they are stun locked.
