I’m currently not playing SL. I brought the game time to play TBC but the feels just aint there (I feeling the grind of leveling), and I don’t want to boost.
So my question is with 25% off Shadowlands is it time to bring back the BM hunter?

Gratz. I love hunting those rare tames. Got any Fav pets?
Besides my orignal WOTLK Loque’nahak (Not sure how long I spent hunting total but it was like a 12 hour session when I finally got the tame) it would be my BFA 7.2 Fenryr
Hmm. Speaking as a decently frugal person (aftereffect of growing up with parents living paycheck to paycheck)…
I’d say wait for the Black Friday. You usually get much better deals then. IMO, deals aren’t worth it unless they’re more than 40% off.
But of course, that’s up to you!
Also, what’s your goal? To PvP? Raid? Run M+? Or do you just wanna level?
I grew up the same but now I do pretty well for myself. I actually didn’t play SL because they put up the monthly price in Australia by like 30%.
When is Black Friday? I was hoping last Christmas it would be at 50% off but it didn’t so I don’t particularly mind paying for base version at 25% off but if I don’t continue to play next month it won’t be worth it.
I like to run around collecting hunter pets but I like raiding and dungeons etc but I can’t commit to a weekly schedule so I only pug (which sucks). Basically just want to experience the raids and storyline while collect stuff
Fenryr is also one of my favorite because her was so hard for me to solo.
I started working on him as soon as he was available. I’m not ashamed to say it took just over 100 attempts to get it right, but I did it.
Screamed so loud I freaked out my dogs. Lol
On this toon, it’s a tie between my Gilnean Hound Thornton or my White Tiger Hobbes (Savage from Mists).
Fenryr is very cool. Love how the runes light up when he moves around.
I have to say, just WOW!
I’ve struggled with my frenzy stacks forever it seems and always need something to reduce the cool down and I still struggle.
My haste has hovered between 12-14% most of SL since I don’t do Mythics. Not my thing and the timer really stresses me out.
Yes! I know not pushing Mythics limits my gear and is not Blizzards fault. I think I ended CN at 16%.
With this latest patch and some lucky drops and upgrades and I recrafted my Legendary my haste is 24%.
I’ve gone 16-24% in 2 weeks and OMG! I totally suck less! Such a difference. All this time I thought I was really in a “get good” situation, but the haste really makes the stacks so much easier to manage.
Feels really good right now. Hunters may be low end dps but I don’t care right now. I’m able to do all the things I enjoy in the game and play with my friends. Thats all that matters.
It’s a good morning and I wanted to share.
I haven’t really bothered optimizing my gear at all, and am sitting at about 13%. It can definitely be a little tight keeping all of my stacks going, but I’ve also been using the bloodletting conduit to help solve that. Just started raiding again this week (didn’t really raid last tier, and haven’t raided since Legion really). We’re progressing through heroic, so hoping I get some decent upgrades that will help with my haste as well.
It makes such a huge difference.
Even with Bloodletting I struggled but some of that is I’m always moving and looking at my position and using mend pet in my rotation since I solo stuff a lot and watching spells and stuff.
IRL I’m a much better multitasker than the game. lol.
When my group raids the RL focuses mechanics and not dying first and foremost so I can easily lose my stacks. I also do call outs and manage ranged groups. I imagine that is the difference between being good and being great. I can’t do both well.
Getting a hang of fight mechanics definitely makes it a bit harder. I tend to focus more on the fight mechanics than I do my rotation, though really only slightly so. I am hoping next week I’ll parse higher as I’ll be more comfortable with the fights we have done so I can do a better job. Usually, my issue is I sometimes get a little too quick firing off barbed shot and then I end up with no charges to fire when I really need it. So, when I’m paying close attention I can keep all three up, but that can be rough when learning new fights.
We stepped into the raid today for the first time on Normal. The first five bosses were quite fun and went fairly well.
PainSmith. Just Wow. I felt like a brand new Hunter hitting every single damn spike in phase 2.
It’s things like this that make me think……am I really that bad? Lol. I don’t like that fight at all.
Don’t feel too bad. My group went 4/10 in heroic, and we did an alt run the other night on normal where I healed on my priest. We went 5/10 in normal and painsmith was hm. You know, the name is accurate. He was painful lol.
He was also a ton of fun. IMO! For the phase two, I just pretended I was playing fall guys lol.
Yeah, my guild wiped several times to Painsmith. We beat him but only at the very end of the raid night. It was indeed painful.
I’m hoping I can get all the movement stuff done and do a better job staying alive and not taking so much unnecessary damage. If I can do that, maybe I’ll find the fun in it. Lol
How’s everyone been enjoying the patch so far? I’ve really enjoyed SOD. We’re 6/10 heroic (though I think we should have been at least 7/10 heroic this week) and 10/10 normal! Been a lot of fun, haven’t really done much raiding since Legion.
We are 7/10 N and have done the first boss on Heroic. I kinda like that first boss….the utter chaos of that last 10% with everyone running around getting 1 shot.
And I really appreciate the Korthia gear since I don’t do Mythics. It gave me a chance to upgrade a few ilevels but most importantly I was able to reorganize my stats a whole bunch.
And I’m enjoying the new NF legendary.
Got into the Adamant vaults a few times as well.
And I picked up 2 death pony mounts! Just adding to the collection.
I’ve been loving the new venthyr legendary. I really wanted to try the necrolord one for 3v3s but we don’t have a third partner that fits our comp idea, and necrolord is too weak for other content for me to really get behind. Venthyr is better overall for me so went back to it.
I need to do torghast tonight and get flawless on the layer 12s for the achievement. I want that pony from the Meta achievement!
Impressive. We are only doing layers 10 for now until we get better gear. We finished some 11s but there were a number of deaths involved. Lol
Yeah, the main thing I’ve realized is time isn’t important right now so long as you can complete while meeting secondary objectives, not dying, and avoiding all traps.
So I’m taking my time with the higher layers, especially when I get unfavorable powers. In some ways, I find it a bit easier for myself. The elites can all be kited and LOS’d and have comparatively less health than some other stuff I’ve soloed. So, I feel like I have more in my utility belt so to speak.
Though I’d be interested to see how these are grouped up! I imagine in some regards, that makes it harder!
