Hunter changes 10.0.7

Can any hunters expand on this? How many were using this bow for PVP? The compensating buffs to Hunter seem a bit extreme to me but I’m not really an expert on Hunter’s damage profile.

Oh, that’s just…dandy.

I thought it was mostly just in tournament play because they had access to the mythic variant.

Oh jesus this is going to be really bad. BM is already super high dam, borderline too high dam. This is a really big buff.

The difference between the lfr and mythic one are very small even though there is a huge stat distance. In PvE the lfr version of the bow is 5k higher dps then a 418 crafted perfect stated bow with embelish on it.

It was very easy for pvps to get kills on normal/heroic raz for the bow aswell due to how quickly those were cleared by pugs.

Alright whos ready to rapid fire hunter hate threads after this update

Yeah BM hunter is about to be a monster.
Cupid is about to friggin slap the entire ladder.

In PvE this bow was functioning the same as having 30% haste from secondary stats, so 30% + whatever your gear haste was, and applying that same haste to pets. Somewhere around 20-25% dps boost overall just from the effect.

In PvP however with it being nerfed recently it’s only 1% per stack, so 5% overall haste. Which is obviously way lower of a contributing factor then the proposed damage buffs, so BM is getting somewhere around a 10-15% sustain buff with these changes. Maybe more considering the 100% buff to Death Chakram, which will also be really good burst damage.

The context of this change is pve, with the bow. Hunter being balanced around one drop that is responsible for like 20-30% of BMs damage and less of a percentage for marks. If the goal was to equalize without the bow, BM needed more than marks did because it got more out of the bow than marks.

That all being said, they really really really really need to make this not apply in pvp for BM. Kill commands with 4 set and mastery are already really high. Barbed is super high spread bleed pressure. +25% on both and a huge chakram buff on top is going to make it way too strong.

No, I need to see Mr Mittens needs to bite a Rogue in his patootie for 250k.

Beginner class made significantly stronger once too many people were unable to access high enough ilvl bow to insta-delete people in pvp.

More shocking news, tonight at 11.

In reality this is a pve issue and this statement makes sense due to the change in the bow.

Currently in pve with the bow in single target, the pets basic melee attack is bonkers, which is why bm wants the bow even at lfr levels.

Looking at a few of my logs in 15s, in boss damage alone my pets melee (auto attack) is doing 20-25% of my overall damage and waaaay ahead of barbed shot since getting the bow. That’s hysterically too much. In tyranical weeks it was laughable how high my single target was as bm.

So with it no longer increased the auto attack speed of pets, bm will need damage buffs to make up for what is on single target your #2 damage now being lower.

This is also a positive for every hunter who didn’t get the bow/doesn’t have it yet.

MM didn’t benefit as much due to the pet damage not being big for them, so it wasn’t as much of a “necessity” as bm.

I would expect some adjustments before actual patch release - it’s not next week anyway.

As to pvp, the bow loses any benefit if you’re swapping targets. The debuff it applies restarts upon new targets. So outside of having heroic or mythic I can’t really see a huge benefit with LFR or 405 normal bow.

If it’s like 10.0.5 we aren’t going to see the accompanying pvp tuning until right before 10.0.7 comes out.
