Humans are no longer special

Really wish they had tried to keep the diplomacy theme to the racial instead of going more generic. Like better prices on rep vendors or something I dunno.

Everyone complains humans are generic so blizzard forgoes a callback to the og times of Lothar being the diplomatic glue that held the alliance together, something that could be humans specific niche rather than human potential jack of all trades. In favor of a supremely generic borderline useless passive. Dope.

over 20 years of Human lore of uniting various races for mutual survival through diplomatic ties that shapped their writting

Vs

One Wizard of Oz refrance!

Why is this in the Story Forum? It’s about game mechanics.

its being removed because rep is going account wide, its to prevent an unfair advantage

The mechanic represented the human role in the lore, so it’srelevant.

Ironically outside of Anduin and maybe Varian when he was working on getting the Belves to flip, I don’t think WoW humanity was all that diplomatic in recent lore.

considering how many races they’ve pushed into joining the Horde I’d say Humans are pretty bad at diplomacy actually
and the one king to actually prioritize the diplomatic approach often gets derided as a pussy by most players

Games like warcraft appeal to a very different type of human.

What do you mean? Humans have been an amazing recruiter for the Horde. Forsaken, trolls, goblins.

Which races then?

Dwarves and gnomes were brought in by Lordaeron. Night elves and Kul Tirans were brought in by Jaina, a Kul Tiran. Draenei and worgen were brought in by night elves. Pandaren and dracthyr brought themselves in. Void elves were brought in by Alleria, a high elf. Lightforged by Turalyon, a Lordaeronian. Dark Iron by the dwarves of Ironforge. Mechagnomes by the gnomes.

So who exactly did the humans of Stormwind bring into the Alliance?

Do the high elves count during the second war? Even though they bounced shortly after the war was over?

Wait nevermind. Stormwind was destroyed back than

So…uhh…Yeah, I got nothing either

Without her accent and girth, she’s just a Human.

You’re talking about purely recruitment, then no, ot was already formed. SW took the mantle after the old Alliance captinal was destroyed and did so thought diplomacy. Diplomacy is more (way more) then making friends, its also about keeping them together.

But lets pretend that’s not the lore, defining all Humans as Xenophobic and proclaiming their racial should be [Racism] is the dumbest head canon ever.

(No i am not saying you said this but i have seen this before…)

Humans brought in the dwarves, gnomes, (who took a leave of absence during the Second War) and the Night Elves, and if you’re going to count the Kul Tirans as a separate race, then the total is 4. Humans are no less Human if their mailing address is somewhere other than Stormwind City.

The playable race called humans is specifically Stormwind humans. Kul Tiras, Lordaeron, and Gilneas are all playable as separate races that had different racial abilities.

What matters in determining Stormwind’s importance is not who this kingdom brought into the Alliance, but rather who it keeps.

Stormwind is referred to as the last bastion of humanity and the kingdom currently houses individuals from several Alliance races. It is the heart of the faction and is constantly pointed to as the glue that holds the Alliance together.

By that logic, Night Elves and High Elves should have that as a double helping. (Blood Elves lost it after being served a combination of humble pie from both Arthas and later on when the Forsaken came to help them out and sponsor them for Horde membership.)
