So I’m playing around on the SL PTR, trying to make an Asian monk, but none of the face shape or eyes even look remotely Asian. Is this just because its beta, or will this go live

It was actually explicitly displayed at blizzcon that we would have asian face styles for humans as part of including multiple cultures.

Those were sadly just preview sketches, not actual ingame models. Just one of the many promised items on a blizzcon that never actually makes it.

You can choose a round, wide, or narrow face shape, then you have to choose the skin tones associated with those faces because they decided to segregate them for some reason.
Then, most importantly, you have to account for wow’s art style getting in the way of your vision as we must all do.

Even so, the faces are pretty good, imo. I like them way better than i like the human faces we got now that make you look like you’re 40 with depression.

Faces 31-45 have more of a golden hue, which along with a round face shape would resemble appearances similar to people of an East Asian background.

They won’t be changing much in the next few weeks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is an ongoing effort.
Still, it’s your opinion that they don’t look a certain way.
I assume blizzard disagrees.

Ohh this is real? I much more perfer this then the American face options and skin color Ive seen.
Now I want to make a human female!
My natural eyes squint way more than that! It compliments my resting B face.

Oh hey they actually look great, havent seen them before.
I was messin around the other day with the customizations and omg the goblins are sooo ugly omg…but I was wondering how many bald or Nigerians char will be running around…man…the back is really black…the blood elfs are just super sexy and the long hair styles cut right thru the robes it looks strange…Im going to make a punk rock undead destroy warlock…and a shaman elemental…what race idk yet…but I was on that customazation for at least an hour…its a game in its self.lol.
I see nothing wrong with the toons make of an Asian, if you’re not looking for an over exaggeration of features.

I hate how skin colors are locked to the faces. I’m a very pale asian girl and the palest they can be is tan-ish pale. Not to mention not all asians have monolids and some naturally have double eyelids.

I’m so impatient for the changes, I’m hoping the new customizations drop with pre-patch along with the class and level changes.

Hmm,interesting never realize they had names for these features ,guess people want reality in a video game so much as to complain every detail,I admit Blizzard did right with the nose.
